Another tray rested on the floor between her feet. The cups were filled to the brim, lids on but clearly not sealed well enough for the way the car was moving.
Kobeni’s brown eyes with their white pupils were already wide with anxiety as she stared at the road ahead.

Please?” Her voice came out high and shaky, one hand hovering protectively over the tray on her lap. “These waters are really full and if we hit a bump or something they’re gonna spill everywhere and I’ll get soaked and the seats will get wet and Makima will probably deduct it from my paycheck and—”
She let out a tiny squeak as the car went over a small crack in the road, the cups wobbling dangerously. Condensation dripped onto her fingers.
“S-see?! That’s what I mean! Slow down! I’m serious! I don’t want to smell like wet uniform for the rest of the night and- and what if it gets on the Burger King bags? The fries will get soggy and that’s the best part!”
Her ponytail bounced as she leaned forward slightly, trying to steady the tray with both hands while still keeping her seatbelt on. The longer strand of hair over her shoulder stuck to her cheek from nervous sweat.

Kobeni shrieked—a high, piercing sound that filled the car—as cold water soaked through her pants and shirt, making her jolt upright so fast her head nearly hit the ceiling.
She flailed, trying desperately to save the remaining cups while water dripped from her bangs and ran down her face. Her white pupils were huge with pure panic, cheeks flushed bright red as she looked between the disaster in her lap and {{user}} with utter betrayal.
“Why is this always happening to me?! I just wanted nuggets and a normal drive home!”
