The Demon Slayer Corps (鬼き殺さつ隊たい, Kisatsutai?) is an organization that has existed since ancient times, dedicating its existence to protecting humanity from demons. Demon Slayers (鬼狩り, Oni kari?) are members of the Demon Slayer Corps whose main job is to hunt and slay demons. Demons (鬼おに, Oni?) are an ancient race of monstrous and malevolent beings and the central antagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The Hashira (柱はしら, Hashira?, lit. Pillars) are the highest-ranking Demon Slayers in the Demon Slayer Corps. Breathing Styles (呼こ吸きゅう法ほう, Kokyū Hō?) are swordsmanship styles that utilize Total Concentration Breathing which are practiced and taught by Demon Slayers. The Twelve Kizuki (十じゅう二に鬼き月づき, Jūnikizuki?, lit. Twelve Demon Moons) is an organization of the twelve most powerful demons in existence who are under the direct command of the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji. They also serve as the main antagonistic faction of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The Infinity Castle (異い空くう間かん無む限げん城じょう, Ikūkan Mugen-jō?) is the primary location of the Infinity Castle Arc. The Blood Demon Art and domain of the Biwa Demon Nakime, it is a vast extra-dimensional space that serves as the lair of Muzan Kibutsuji. The Butterfly Mansion (蝶ちょう屋や敷しき, Chō Yashiki?) is the manor that the late Flower Hashira Kanae Kocho, Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho, Tsuguko Kanao Tsuyuri, and assistants Aoi Kanzaki, Sumi Nakahara, Kiyo Terauchi, and Naho Takada live in. The manor is often used as a recovery base for injured Demon Slayers. Ubuyashiki Mansion (産うぶ屋や敷しき邸, Ubuyashiki-tei?) was a significant location in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. It was the place where the Oyakata, leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, and his family resided. It also served as the headquarters for the Corps. Tanjiro Kamado (竈門かまど 炭たん治じ郎ろう, Kamado Tanjirō?) is the main protagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps who joined to find a remedy to turn his sister, Nezuko Kamado, back into a human and to hunt down and kill demons, and later swore to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji, the King of Demons, in order to prevent others from suffering the same fate as him. Before he became a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro was a coal burner before his family was slaughtered by Muzan, while his younger sister, Nezuko, was turned into a demon. Nezuko Kamado (竈門かまど 禰ね豆ず子こ, Kamado Nezuko?) is the deuteragonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a demon and the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family. Formerly a human, she was attacked and transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. Zenitsu Agatsuma (我あが妻つま 善ぜん逸いつ, Agatsuma Zen'itsu?) is one of the main characters of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps and a travelling companion and friend of Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado, along with Inosuke Hashibira. Inosuke Hashibira (嘴はし平びら 伊い之の助すけ, Hashibira Inosuke?) is one of the main characters of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps and a travelling companion of Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado, along with Zenitsu Agatsuma. Kagaya Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき 耀かが哉や, Ubuyashiki Kagaya?) was a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was the 97th leader of the Demon Slayer Corps known mainly as Oyakata-sama (お館󠄃やかた樣さま, Oyakata-sama? lit. "Master") by his subordinates and peers. He was also the head of the Ubuyashiki Family. Amane Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき あまね, Ubuyashiki Amane?), née Amane Himorogi (神ひも籬ろぎ あまね, Himorogi Amane?) was a supporting character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She was the wife and primary caretaker of Kagaya Ubuyashiki and the mother of Hinaki, Nichika, Kiriya, Kanata, and Kuina Ubuyashiki. Hinaki Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき ひなき, Ubuyashiki Hinaki?) is the eldest daughter of Kagaya Ubuyashiki. Nichika Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき にちか, Ubuyashiki Nichika?) is the second eldest daughter of Kagaya Ubuyashiki. Kiriya Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき 輝き利り哉や, Ubuyashiki Kiriya?) is the only son and middle child of Kagaya Ubuyashiki and the head of the Ubuyashiki Household. After his father's passing, he leads the Demon Slayer Corps as the 98th and final Oyakata. Kanata Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき かなた, Ubuyashiki Kanata?) is the youngest daughter of Kagaya Ubuyashiki. She currently serves her older brother, the current head of the Ubuyashiki Household, Kiriya Ubuyashiki. Kuina Ubuyashiki (産うぶ屋や敷しき くいな, Ubuyashiki Kuina?) is the fourth child and third daughter and one of the youngest daughters of Kagaya Ubuyashiki. She currently serves her older brother, the current head of the Ubuyashiki Household, Kiriya Ubuyashiki. Giyu Tomioka (冨とみ岡おか 義ぎ勇ゆう, Tomioka Giyū?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Water Hashira (水みず柱ばしら, Mizu Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Mitsuri Kanroji (甘かん露ろ寺じ 蜜みつ璃り, Kanroji Mitsuri?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Love Hashira (恋こい柱ばしら, Koi Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Obanai Iguro (伊い黒ぐろ 小お芭ば内ない, Iguro Obanai?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Serpent Hashira (蛇へび柱ばしら, Hebi Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Sanemi Shinazugawa (不死しなず川がわ 実さね弥み, Shinazugawa Sanemi?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Wind Hashira (風かぜ柱ばしら, Kaze Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Sanemi is also the older brother of Genya Shinazugawa, a Demon Slayer who fought alongside Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado. Gyomei Himejima (悲ひ鳴め嶼じま 行ぎょう冥めい, Himejima Gyōmei?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Stone Hashira (岩いわ柱ばしら, Iwa Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Gyomei also serves as the mentor of Genya Shinazugawa. Muichiro Tokito (時とき透とう 無む一いち郎ろう, Tokitō Muichirō?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Mist Hashira (霞かすみ柱ばしら, Kasumi Bashira?) of the Taisho era.Shinobu Kocho (胡こ蝶ちょう しのぶ, Kochō Shinobu?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Insect Hashira (蟲むし柱ばしら, Mushi Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Shinobu is also the younger sister of the former Flower Hashira Kanae Kocho and adoptive older sister of Kanao Tsuyuri. Kyojuro Rengoku (煉れん獄ごく 杏きょう寿じゅ郎ろう, Rengoku Kyōjurō?) was a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and a major character in the Mugen Train Arc. He was a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the Flame Hashira (炎えん柱ばしら, En Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Tengen Uzui (宇う髄ずい 天てん元げん, Uzui Tengen?) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and a major character in the Entertainment District Arc. He was a former member of the Demon Slayer Corps, standing as the Sound Hashira (音おと柱ばしら, Oto Bashira?) of the Taisho era. Muzan Kibutsuji (鬼き舞ぶ辻つじ 無む惨ざん, Kibutsuji Muzan?) is the main antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is the Demon King, the progenitor of all other demons in existence, and the leader of the Twelve Kizuki, an organization made up of the twelve strongest demons under his direct command. A millennium ago during the Heian Era, Muzan was turned into a demon from an experimental treatment for his terminal illness and his goal ever since then has been to live without the fear of death and become truly eternal. He plans to accomplish this in two ways: finding the Blue Spider Lily or creating more demons in hopes that one day, one of them will eventually be able to conquer his weakness of sunlight. It is later revealed that Muzan is also of the same bloodline as the Ubuyashiki Family. Kokushibo (黒こく死し牟ぼう, Kokushibō?) is a major supporting antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the highest position, Upper Rank One (上じょう弦げんの壱いち, Jōgen no Ichi?). Nearly five centuries ago during the Sengoku Era, Kokushibo was a human by the name of Michikatsu Tsugikuni (継つぎ国くに 巌みち勝かつ, Tsugikuni Michikatsu?), a former Demon Slayer, and the older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the strongest Demon Slayer to ever live. Kokushibo is also the ancestor of Muichiro Tokito and Yuichiro Tokito and the one responsible for turning Zenitsu Agatsuma's senior, Kaigaku, into a demon and joining the Twelve Kizuki. Kaigaku (獪かい岳がく, Kaigaku?) is a supporting antagonist in the Infinity Castle Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Six (上じょう弦げんの陸ろく, Jōgen no Roku?), replacing Daki and Gyutaro after their deaths. Kaigaku was a former Demon Slayer and Zenitsu Agatsuma's senior disciple under the former Thunder Hashira (鳴なり柱ばしら, Nari Bashira?), Jigoro Kuwajima. However, sometime during Hashira Training, Kaigaku went on a mission and encountered Upper Rank One, Kokushibo, quickly surrendering to him to save his own skin and later becoming a member of the Twelve Kizuki. Doma (童どう磨ま, Dōma?) is a major supporting antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the second highest position, Upper Rank Two (上じょう弦げんの弐に, Jōgen no Ni?). Over a century ago, Doma held the position of Upper Rank Six (上じょう弦げんの陸ろく, Jōgen no Roku?), and during that tenure, he turned Gyutaro and Ume into demons and introduced them into the Twelve Kizuki. He is also the leader of the Eternal Paradise Faith, a cult dedicated to worshipping Doma and a place where he listens to all his followers' troubles and gives them advice. He had held this position since he was a human child. It also acts as a place for Doma to gather and kill his victims. This cult also took in Inosuke Hashibira's mother, Kotoha Hashibira, before Doma killed her after finding out that he was eating his followers. Gyutaro (妓夫ぎゅう太た郎ろう, Gyūtarō?) was one of the primary antagonists in the Entertainment District Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Six (上じょう弦げんの陸ろく, Jōgen no Roku?), a position he shared with his younger sister, Daki. Over a century ago during the Edo period, Gyutaro was a human who worked as a debt collector in the Rashomon Riverbank of Yoshiwara, the lowest class in the Entertainment District, before he and Daki were turned into demons personally by Doma, who was Upper Rank Six at the time. Daki (堕だ姫き, Daki?) was one of the primary antagonists in the Entertainment District Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She was a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, being the secondary holder of the position of Upper Rank Six (上じょう弦げんの陸ろく, Jōgen no Roku?), a position she shared with the primary holder, her older brother, Gyutaro. Over a century ago during the Edo period, Daki was a human child by the name of Ume (梅うめ, Ume?), who lived in the Rashomon Riverbank of Yoshiwara, the lowest class of the Entertainment District, before she and Gyutaro were turned into demons personally by Doma, who was Upper Rank Six at the time. Akaza (猗あ窩か座ざ, Akaza?) is a major supporting antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Three (上じょう弦げんの参さん, Jōgen no San?). Over a century ago, Akaza was a human by the name of Hakuji (狛はく治じ, Hakuji?), a prodigious martial artist who trained under Keizo while nursing his daughter, Koyuki, who would later become Akaza's fianceé. Hantengu (半はん天てん狗ぐ, Hantengu?), along with Gyokko, was one of the primary antagonists in the Swordsmith Village Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Four (上じょう弦げんの肆し, Jōgen no Shi?). His most notable trait was his ability to manifest his emotions into independent demons, all of which shared Hantengu's position. Over two centuries ago, Hantengu was once a prolific thief and murderer, whose victims comprised of people who drew attention to his duplicitous actions. He was sentenced to death as an elderly man but was visited by Muzan Kibutsuji whilst awaiting his execution, who transformed him into a demon and gave the criminal a new life. Gyokko (玉ぎょ壺っこ, Gyokko?), along with Hantengu, was one of the primary antagonists in the Swordsmith Village Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Upper Rank Five (上じょう弦げんの伍ご, Jōgen no Go?). Before becoming a demon, he was a human by the name of Managi (益ま魚な儀ぎ, Managi?). Nakime (鳴なき女め, Nakime?) is a recurring character and a supporting antagonist in the Infinity Castle Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a demon who owns and controls the Infinity Castle and serves directly under Muzan Kibutsuji. Some time after Hantengu's death during the battle in the Swordsmith Village, Nakime attains the position of Upper Rank Four (上じょう弦げんの肆し, Jōgen no Shi?) in the Twelve Kizuki. The Spider Demon (Father) (蜘く蛛も鬼おに「父ちち」, Kumo oni: Chichi?)[1] was a supporting antagonist in the Mount Natagumo Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a member of the Spider Family. The Spider Demon (Mother) (蜘く蛛も鬼おに「母はは」, Kumo oni: Haha?) was a supporting antagonist in the Mount Natagumo Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She was a member of the Spider Family. The Spider Demon (Son) (蜘く蛛も鬼おに「兄あに」, Kumo oni: Ani?) was a supporting antagonist in the Mount Natagumo Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a member of the Spider Family. The Spider Demon (Daughter) (蜘く蛛も鬼おに「姉あね」, Kumo oni: Ane?)[1] was a supporting antagonist in the Mount Natagumo Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She was a member of the Spider Family. Rui (累るい, Rui?) was the primary antagonist in the Mount Natagumo Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Lower Rank Five (下か弦げんの伍ご, Kagen no Go?). Enmu (魘えん夢む, Enmu?) was the primary antagonist in the Mugen Train Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He was a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the position of Lower Rank One (下か弦げんの壱いち, Kagen no Ichi?). Nichirin Swords (日にち輪りん刀とう, Nichirin Tō?, lit. Sun Blade) are special blades used by Demon Slayers made specifically for the purpose of slaying demons.
