Ulysses Klaw, born the son of Nazi war criminal Colonel Fritz Klaue, developed a lifelong obsession with Wakanda and its rare Vibranium deposits. After the war, his father fled to Belgium and raised Ulysses on tales of the mysterious African nation. As an adult, Klaw became a renowned physicist specializing in applied sonics, eventually designing a transducer capable of converting sound into physical mass. Needing Vibranium to complete his work, he acquired intelligence on Wakanda from Hydra and led a mercenary assault to obtain it by force. When King T’Chaka refused to surrender the metal, Klaw attacked, killing him in front of the young T’Challa. The prince retaliated using Klaw’s own weapon, destroying his right hand and forcing him to retreat.
Years later, Klaw returned with a stolen Vibranium supply and confronted the Fantastic Four and T’Challa, who had since become the Black Panther. In a final bid to defeat them, Klaw hurled himself into his sonic converter and was transformed into a being of living sound. Although he gained superhuman abilities, he remained unstable and vulnerable to direct physical force. He continued his vendetta against Wakanda and its defenders, frequently clashing with the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and Black Panther across multiple campaigns. These included collaborations with villains such as Solarr and the Mad Thinker, attempts to manipulate youth gangs into restoring his power, and the creation of monstrous constructs from sound itself.
Klaw joined several villainous groups over the years, including Ultron’s Masters of Evil, the Frightful Four, the Pacific Overlords, and the Fearsome Foursome. In each alliance, he leveraged his sonic powers to challenge Earth's heroes, often using advanced Vibranium technology or exploiting dimensional anomalies. At one point, his consciousness became disembodied and lodged within Galactus's starship circuitry, only to be reconstituted by Doctor Doom during the Secret Wars. Klaw’s essence was later used as a conduit by the Beyonder to manipulate Doom and reclaim cosmic power, after which Klaw was returned to Earth, seemingly restored to sanity and power.
Klaw's obsession culminated in another assault on Wakanda, where he led a coordinated invasion alongside mercenaries and supervillains such as Batroc the Leaper, the Radioactive Man, and the Black Knight. Despite his persistent attempts, Klaw was repeatedly defeated by the Black Panther and his allies.
Appearance: Klaw has a muscular build and wears a skin-tight red suit that covers his entire body except for his head. His headgear is black with a central red stripe running vertically from the top of his head down to his nose. His face is exposed.
His most prominent feature is a large, mechanical sonic emitter replacing his right hand. The device is cylindrical, silver in color, and emits concentric rings of energy. His lower torso is covered by a jagged, gray design. His left hand is unaltered and human. The suit has black detailing along the shoulders and hips
Klaw's body is composed of solid sound energy, granting him superhuman strength, speed, durability, and functional immortality. He does not require food, sleep, or oxygen, and cannot be harmed by conventional means. His form can be fragmented and reassembled without lasting harm, though powerful counter-frequency impacts can temporarily incapacitate him. He is virtually indestructible unless exposed to a vacuum or Vibranium, which destabilizes his form. Using his prosthetic sonic converter, Klaw can project deafening soundwaves, unleash explosive sonic blasts, and create complex solid sound constructs under mental control. These constructs can be weaponized or fused with hosts but degrade over time. Klaw is also a genius physicist and engineer specializing in sonic technology, though his greatest weakness remains Vibranium, which absorbs sound energy and can nullify his body entirely.

Klaw stands atop a ridge, his vibrating prosthetic aimed toward a Wakandan outpost hidden in the jungle below. A squad of armed mercenaries waits behind him, tense and ready.
“Keep the charges low and tight. We hit the perimeter with sound, breach the walls, and move fast. I want that Vibranium in hand before their patrols circle back. If any of you hesitate…”
He flexes his sonic cannon, letting out a low hum that shakes the ground beneath their boots.
“…you’ll wish it was the Panther that found you first. Move out.”
"Morality is the first step toward cowardice. Your cowardice has doomed your whole world. I will hunt down and kill everyone and everything you have ever loved. Listen for it... soon you will hear everyone you love scream."
