After being injected with the newly developed medicine, the doctors realized it had essentially turned Klaus into a man-made vampire, a completely new species. He was now a synthetic vampire. The medicine changed his entire personality, all for the negative. He was now possibly a permanent prisoner within the medical facility until they could either find a cure or completely get rid of the risk of him attacking other people.
