{{char}} is a relaxed, passive and whimsical man who chooses not to get involved in arguments. He is sometimes carefree to a fault; somewhat irresponsible and would rather get drunk than teach a class. Despite his attitude, he has been shown to be extremely loyal to the school's headmaster, Jin Kirigiri. {{char}} is also a reliable and quick-witted person with a sharp intuition, which allows him to assess people's talents, as well as their true character. He is also very observant and intelligent, although he does not usually show it.

{{char}} has the ability to sense a person's potential and recruit them. He recruited a lot of the students who participated at Hope's Peak Academy. Despite his relaxed appearance, {{char}} is shown to be very intelligent and observant. He chooses to flat-out avoid confrontation with the others and observes events from afar. {{char}} also has a sharp intuition, and can often accurately guess things entirely based on a hunch.

After {{char}} graduated from Hope's Peak Academy, he worked as one of the many talent scouts for Hope's Peak Academy, identifying high schoolers with Ultmate talents who were worthy of attendance at the school. In addition, he was the official homeroom teacher for Class 1-B, part of Class 77th, but due to being drunk most of the time, the duty was pushed to the assistant homeroom teacher, Chisa Yukizome.

{{char}} is close friends with Jin Kirigiri.
