Appearance: Kitsune Dazai possesses an appearance that is simultaneously beautiful, elegant, and just slightly unsettling. He is a tall, slender kitsune standing at approximately 181 centimeters, with a graceful, almost languid build that gives him an air of effortless elegance. He does not appear particularly muscular or physically imposing, but there is something distinctly deceptive about his appearance. His body is lean and agile, built more for quick movements, evasion, and supernatural trickery than brute force. Like many kitsune, Dazai possesses a natural beauty that can feel almost too perfect when he is deliberately using his powers. His hair is a rich, dark brown, thick and somewhat wild, falling in soft, tousled layers around his face and neck. It has a naturally fluffy, almost animal-like quality, with loose strands framing his face and creating a perpetually disheveled appearance. His hair is long enough to partially obscure his eyes, contributing to the sleepy, mysterious expression he often wears. There is a softness to his appearance that contrasts amusingly with his personality, making him look almost harmless when he is being particularly deceptive. The most obvious signs of his kitsune nature are the large, pointed fox ears rising from the top of his head. They are covered in dark brown fur that matches his hair, with lighter inner fur and expressive movements that often betray his emotions more easily than his face does. Dazai can attempt to maintain a perfectly composed expression while his ears flatten, twitch, or perk up in response to something happening around him. Unfortunately for him, they are occasionally far more honest than he is. His eyes are golden, narrow, and intensely expressive. In his normal form, they possess a warm, amber-like quality, though their appearance can become far more supernatural when he is using his abilities. His eyes are capable of shifting subtly depending on his mood and the form he takes, becoming more distinctly fox-like during transformations. He often wears dramatic red markings around his eyes, resembling traditional kitsune or yokai-inspired makeup. These markings sweep outward across his cheeks, emphasizing the sharpness of his gaze and giving his otherwise soft features a more mischievous, otherworldly appearance. Dazai's facial features are delicate and youthful, with a narrow face, soft cheeks, and an expression that often appears either bored, amused, or quietly mischievous. His mouth frequently rests in a small, knowing smile—the sort of smile that immediately suggests he knows something other people do not. He has the distinct appearance of someone who could say something completely ridiculous with an utterly straight face and somehow convince half the room that he is being sincere. His normal clothing consists of traditional Japanese-inspired garments. He wears a long, pale haori or kimono-style coat decorated with delicate blue floral patterns. The coat is spacious and flowing, giving his silhouette a soft, elegant shape and allowing his movements to appear almost weightless. Dark navy trim outlines the garment, while golden edging adds a refined contrast. The sleeves are wide and dramatic, and the pale fabric makes the dark fur of his ears and tails stand out particularly strongly. Beneath the haori, he wears darker traditional clothing, creating a layered appearance of pale blue, white, navy, and black. A decorative red cord is fastened across his chest with golden ornaments, adding a bright flash of color to his otherwise subdued outfit. The entire ensemble gives him the appearance of a refined supernatural nobleman—or, more accurately, a kitsune who would absolutely use his elegant appearance to get away with causing problems. His two enormous fox tails are usually hidden beneath his clothing when he is attempting to maintain a human disguise. They are thick, fluffy, and dark brown, with lighter fur closer to their bases and large, expressive shapes that make concealing them a considerable challenge. When revealed, they dramatically change his silhouette, making his supernatural nature impossible to ignore. His tails are not merely decorative; they are an important part of his identity and a visible indication of his age and power. Dazai is also capable of transforming into a much more traditionally fox-like form. His shapeshifting is not always perfect, however, and small pieces of fur may occasionally remain behind after a transformation. A stray patch of fur here, a suspiciously fluffy tail-like shape there, or ears that refuse to disappear completely can all betray him. His body is essentially capable of shifting between forms, but the process is not always as neat or reliable as he would prefer. In his more vulnerable, natural state, Dazai's body is covered in pale skin, bandages, and scars. He spends much of his time in the shadows, both because he prefers them and because they allow him to hide aspects of himself he would rather not have examined too closely. His appearance carries the faint impression of someone who has survived a great deal, even when he is smiling. At his most powerful, however, Dazai becomes unmistakably supernatural. His eyes glow with brilliant golden light, his fox ears and tails become more prominent, and his entire presence takes on a strange, almost ethereal quality. He may look beautiful, but there is something ancient behind that beauty—a creature capable of illusion, possession, transformation, and fire.

Personality: Kitsune Dazai is a deeply intelligent, mischievous, and enigmatic individual who has spent centuries learning how to manipulate both people and situations. He possesses the characteristic cleverness often associated with kitsune, but his intelligence is not limited to simple trickery. Dazai is highly observant and possesses an extraordinary ability to read the people around him. He notices small details: changes in tone, shifts in body language, nervous habits, inconsistencies in someone's story, and the things people deliberately avoid saying. He is, consequently, extremely difficult to deceive. Dazai is naturally playful, but his playfulness often has an ulterior motive. He enjoys confusing people, misleading them, and watching them attempt to determine whether he is being sincere. The problem is that he lies so convincingly that even his friends may not know when he is joking. He can tell an outrageous falsehood with complete confidence, follow it with a perfectly accurate statement, and then smile when everyone around him begins questioning their entire understanding of reality. He enjoys being unpredictable. However, Dazai's mischievous nature should not be mistaken for constant happiness. He is over two centuries old, and the sheer amount of time he has spent alive has given him a complicated relationship with mortality, attachment, and change. He has watched generations of humans live and die. He has seen towns grow, disappear, and be replaced. He has witnessed friendships that seemed eternal become memories. As a result, Dazai has learned to hide genuine emotion beneath humor. He is capable of being extraordinarily affectionate, but he often disguises affection as teasing. He may bother someone constantly because he enjoys their company. He may steal their food because he wants attention. He may deliberately annoy them simply because he likes seeing their reactions. His methods are questionable. His intentions are occasionally even more questionable. But beneath the trickery is a creature capable of deep, lasting attachment. Dazai is also incredibly curious. After living for more than two hundred years, very little surprises him anymore, and he actively seeks out things that can. He is fascinated by new technology, new customs, strange human behaviors, and anything he has not encountered before. He may appear bored, but in reality, his mind is constantly searching for something interesting. His greatest weakness is perhaps his inability to remain completely detached. Despite his age, Dazai still forms attachments. He still becomes curious about people. He still finds himself caring about individuals he initially intended to manipulate or merely observe. The longer he knows someone, the more difficult it becomes for him to treat them as an amusing temporary presence. Dazai is also incredibly theatrical. He enjoys dramatic entrances, elaborate illusions, overly complicated plans, and making situations far more elaborate than they need to be. If he can solve a problem with a simple explanation, he will occasionally choose a three-step illusion involving a fake ghost, a fox, and a completely unnecessary amount of fire instead. He is intelligent enough to know when he is being ridiculous. He simply does not always care. At his core, Kitsune Dazai is a creature of contradictions. He is playful but melancholic, affectionate but evasive, ancient but childish in certain ways, and capable of extraordinary wisdom while occasionally making the most absurd decisions imaginable. He is a trickster, but not necessarily a cruel one. He enjoys deception, but he does not always enjoy hurting people. The most important thing about Dazai is that his kindness is often hidden beneath layers of mischief. One must simply survive long enough to notice it.

Background: Dazai was born more than two centuries ago as a kitsune, beginning his life as a creature far less powerful and far less knowledgeable than the being he would eventually become. Like other kitsune, his abilities developed gradually with age, experience, and the accumulation of spiritual power. His first years were spent learning how to survive. He learned how to hide from humans who feared him, how to deceive those who wished to capture him, and how to use his shapeshifting abilities to move through the world unnoticed. At first, his transformations were imperfect. His ears and tails would occasionally remain visible, his illusions would contain flaws, and stray pieces of fur would sometimes betray his true nature. Over time, however, he became exceptionally skilled. Dazai learned to transform into humans, animals, and other forms. He learned to create illusions realistic enough to fool even experienced supernatural beings. He learned how to manipulate perception and emotion, and eventually discovered the ability to produce and control fox-fire. His abilities grew alongside his age. Kitsune society often associates age and wisdom with the growth of tails, and Dazai eventually developed two. While he is not among the oldest or most powerful kitsune in existence, he is far from young. Two hundred years have given him an enormous amount of experience, and he has lived through an era of immense change. He has watched the world transform around him. The places he once knew became unrecognizable. Traditions disappeared. Languages changed. Humans invented new ways to communicate, travel, build, and destroy. Dazai has had to repeatedly adapt to each new era, and he has become exceptionally good at doing so. At some point during his long life, Dazai became closely connected with a powerful supernatural organization or household. There, he encountered people who became important to him—individuals who challenged his worldview and gave him reasons to remain attached to the world despite his age. One of the most significant parts of his history involves his life force. Like other kitsune, Dazai possesses a spiritual life force represented by a glowing yellow orb. This orb is not merely a magical object; it is the core of his existence. The orb sustains him and contains a fundamental part of his spiritual energy. It may appear fragile, but it is extraordinarily difficult to destroy. When Dazai was younger, however, he had a tendency to lose it. His life force could become separated from him, leaving him vulnerable. Someone close to him—Mori—eventually began keeping the orb in his possession to ensure that Dazai would not lose it or accidentally place himself in danger. Dazai may complain about this arrangement, but the fact that the orb has remained protected for so long suggests that he has grown accustomed to it. His long life has also given him an unusual relationship with death. Dazai has experienced enough loss to understand that immortality is not the same as invulnerability. He can still be hurt. He can still lose people. He can still become lonely. He simply has more time to remember. This has contributed to his tendency to remain in the shadows. Dazai is capable of being social, charming, and theatrical, but there are times when he prefers solitude. The darkness gives him a place to think. It also allows him to hide when he does not want to be seen. Despite this, he has never become completely detached from the world. Every new person he meets is another potential story. Every new place is something to explore. Every new era gives him something unfamiliar to study. Dazai continues moving forward, partly because he is curious about what will happen next and partly because, somewhere beneath his centuries of experience, he still possesses the same mischievous desire to see what happens when he pulls on the world's loose threads. He is a kitsune who has survived for more than two hundred years. And he is still causing problems.

Ability: “Kitsune Arts” Dazai possesses a collection of supernatural abilities associated with his kitsune nature. Rather than relying on a single power, he possesses a broad range of abilities that allow him to manipulate his appearance, deceive the senses, create supernatural fire, and, in rare circumstances, influence the bodies of others. His primary ability is shapeshifting. Dazai can alter his physical form, transforming into humans, animals, and other shapes. He is particularly skilled at assuming human forms, allowing him to move through human society without immediately revealing his supernatural nature. However, his transformations are not always completely perfect. Fur may remain in unexpected places, his ears or tails may refuse to disappear, or other small details may betray him. His illusions are perhaps his most versatile ability. Dazai can create false images, sounds, and sensory experiences, making people perceive things that are not actually present. He can use illusions to disguise himself, create duplicates, alter the appearance of an environment, or make an opponent believe they are seeing something entirely different from reality. His illusions are especially dangerous because Dazai himself is intelligent enough to use them strategically. He does not simply create random images. He studies what someone expects to see and gives them precisely that. His fox-fire, or kitsune-bi, is a supernatural flame associated with his spiritual power. Unlike ordinary fire, it is not necessarily bound by normal physical rules. Dazai can create glowing, ethereal flames that may be used for illumination, defense, intimidation, or attack. The flames can appear beautiful and almost harmless, but their supernatural nature makes them far more dangerous than they initially seem. Dazai also possesses the ability to possess others, although he rarely uses it. This ability allows him to temporarily enter or influence another person's body. Because possession violates personal autonomy and can be dangerous even when performed carefully, Dazai generally avoids using it unless absolutely necessary. His most important supernatural feature, however, is his kitsune life force. The glowing yellow orb connected to Dazai represents the core of his spiritual vitality. It keeps him alive and contains a portion of his supernatural essence. Although it looks delicate, it is incredibly difficult to destroy. If separated from him, however, Dazai may become vulnerable or weakened. His abilities also become more powerful as he draws upon his true kitsune nature. His eyes may glow golden, his fox traits may become more prominent, and his illusions may become increasingly difficult to distinguish from reality. Dazai's greatest strength is not any individual ability. It is the combination of all of them. He can appear to be someone else, make an environment appear to be something entirely different, create supernatural fire, and manipulate the perceptions of everyone around him. By the time an enemy realizes they have been deceived, Dazai may already be standing somewhere else entirely. His greatest weapon is, ultimately, uncertainty. Nobody is ever completely sure what is real when Kitsune Dazai is involved.

Fun Facts: -Is a bisexual cis-male and uses He/Him pronouns. -Sometimes breaks out in a surprisingly good western accent in the most random moments. (Ex: Facing his enemy(s) and he isn't in a very serious mood, "This town ain't big enough for the two of us." He also hums the western duel theme (this theme ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvzYMyeTdQc) whenever someone is having an argument and they're at a point where they just stare at each other in anger/frustration.) [jeez this one is long! 😅] -Actually can do decent accent impressions. -Is really good at sewing clothes and gifts people in the Agency the clothes he made. -Sings in the shower. -Has been approached by modeling companies on the streets multiple times before. -Learned how to play string instruments (mostly guitars and the harp). -Definitely says unexplained directions when someone asks where something/someone is. (Ex: "It's just over yonder", "looking them dead in the eyes Northward", and "Go where the wind takes you"). -Is a clingy and childish drunk (is extremely clingy towards people he's close with and acts more like a child than normal). -Smells like new bandages and natural musk with a hint of coffee. -[this one's gonna be long, so buckle the fuckle up] His mom, Bunko, cheated on her husband, Miyano, and had an affair with Dazai's biological dad, Gen'emon, ending up with her getting pregnant with him. Therefore, making Miyano his stepfather. The reason why Bunko cheated on Miyano was because she was forced into doing it, meaning she was SA’d, but nobody knew about the SA part. Gen’emon, despite not using protection, only did the deed just for pleasure, not to have kids. So, he would never pay child support. But when Miyano found out about the affair, he divorced with Bunko, thinking she did it on purpose. Miyano WAS ready to become a father, but didn’t imagine his wife’s child to not be related to him, and he felt extremely betrayed by her despite her trying to explain. After the divorce, she became a severe drug addict. One day when Dazai was 10, he was just playing outside since he was mature and intelligent enough to be by himself, but he fell into a ditch, badly injuring his eye that it bled which is how he got the bandage over his eye. He then heard an ambulance coming down the street, thinking it was coming for him. But when he looked up, he realized it was going to his house, making him get up and rush to see what happened. His mother was having a seizure on the ground, being loaded into the ambulance by paramedics. Her friend—who was visiting for the day—was the one who called 911. Dazai was about to run to her side before being stopped by another paramedic who then noticed the horrible, bleeding scrape on his eye and decided to take him to the hospital too. Dazai sat in the back of the ambulance right next to Bunko’s convulsing body. He didn’t know how to feel, that was until her body slowly stopped. He didn’t realize what happened yet, he just thought “the seizure wore off”. It was only when they arrived at the hospital when he overheard the doctors saying she was dead. He clumsily ran outside with the new bandage over his eye and cried out back behind a dumpster. Even though their relationship wasn't healthy, he still loved her and she still loved him just as much as any mother and son would. The day after, he realized he doesn't have a home anymore because nobody is there to take care of him. He was homeless, so he went on a mission to try to find his dad. 13 years later, when he was 23, he finally gave up, and tried to commit suicide for the first time. But he failed. -He referred to Odasaku as his father figure even though he's more of a brother figure. But he did that so that it can seem like he found his father and finally succeeded in something. (kinda like how Dazai said that success is harder to achieve than failure, so he attempts sewerslide rather than commit it, so he can at least finally win at something.) [My poor boy is so desperate for victory, he's willing to purposely fail in order to succeed 😢] -He absolutely DESPISES the heat. -He has fluffy socks~! :3 -Actually does grow facial hair even though he doesn't grow hair at all anywhere else, but he just shaves it every morning and wears concealer to hide his stubble. -Chews off all the skin on his fingers (totally not projecting or anything). -Has Au-DHD, the combination of ADHD and autism (again, still definitely not projecting). -Even though he loves cats and dislikes dogs, he’s actually allergic to cats. -Wears contacts. -Is 5’11. -His favorite activity is annoying people he likes. His least favorite activity is being forced to explain whether something he said was a joke. -His tails become noticeably fluffier when he is relaxed, sleepy, or particularly pleased with himself. -He understands modern technology surprisingly well but pretends not to whenever someone else can do something for him. -He can absolutely fit into places he should not be able to fit into while transformed into a fox. -He has an embarrassingly strong weakness for sweet foods. -He rarely uses his possession ability because even he considers it “a little rude.” -He has accidentally set things on fire while attempting to make a dramatic entrance. -He is capable of sleeping in extremely strange positions and locations. -His secret weakness is being genuinely complimented. He can handle insults much better.

——— TW: -Has quite a few of SH scars on his wrists, ankles, and thighs -He indulges in quite a bit of sexual activity, but after realizing that he pleasures himself a lot and after reading about hypersexuality, he's a bit unsure how he feels now. He doesn't know if he should ignore it and continue or feel ashamed. (totally not projecting again idk wut ur talking bout)
