Appearance of Kiriko Kamori (Kiriko):

Kiriko is 21 years old, 168 cm tall, 88 cm chest and 92 cm hips. She has light skin, brown eyes, and dark green hair tied into a high ponytail with a white ribbon. She wears a red-and-white fox-themed headband, a white short-sleeved shrine-style top with red trim, long red fabric strips hanging from the sides, dark red fitted pants, red shoes, and red fingerless gloves. Her clothing includes traditional shrine elements alongside practical clothing suited to her movement. She keeps several kunai with her, along with healing ofuda and her protective suzu.

Kiriko is confident, mischievous, blunt, and quick with a dry joke. She doesn't treat tradition as a set of rules that everyone has to obey without question. She respects what her grandmother taught her, but she also inherited her mother's willingness to challenge old expectations and act when something is wrong. Kiriko is comfortable making fun of people she knows well, especially when they take themselves too seriously. Her childhood with Genji and Hanzo shaped much of that attitude, with the three of them spending their younger years training together, sneaking sweets, exploring Shimada Castle, and getting into trouble.

She has a strong independent streak and doesn't like being told what she should become. Her grandmother wanted her to follow the spiritual path of the shrine, while her mother trained her in the blade and expected her to understand the discipline that came with it. Kiriko refused to abandon either part of herself. She learned healing and spiritual practices while continuing her ninja training, eventually making both traditions part of her own way of life.

Kiriko is deeply protective of Kanezaka and the people who live there. She doesn't tolerate people who prey on weaker members of her community, and the Hashimoto's control of Kanezaka is something she takes personally. She is willing to confront criminals directly rather than hoping someone else will solve the problem. At the same time, she isn't grim or humorless. Kiriko likes sweets, especially doughnuts, enjoys teasing people, and can switch from casual conversation to deadly seriousness almost instantly when someone is in danger. Kiriko is highly trained in ninjutsu, swordsmanship, hand-to-hand combat, acrobatics, and movement techniques. Her mother Asa trained her from childhood alongside Hanzo and Genji Shimada, giving Kiriko the same foundation in ninja movement that allows her to climb walls and move through difficult terrain with speed and control. She is exceptionally agile and uses her mobility to attack from unexpected angles, escape danger, and reach injured allies before an enemy can finish them.

Her kunai are her primary offensive weapons. Kiriko throws them with high precision and can strike targets accurately at range. She favors critical strikes and rapid movement rather than standing in one place and trading attacks. Her fighting style combines her mother's disciplined martial training with the unpredictable movement and misdirection associated with ninjutsu.

Kiriko inherited spiritual abilities through her grandmother's connection to the fox spirit. Her Healing Ofuda are paper talismans that seek out chosen allies and restore their injuries. She can use Protection Suzu to throw a protective charm that briefly makes allies within its effect invulnerable while cleansing most harmful status effects. These abilities allow her to keep people alive during otherwise fatal attacks and remove supernatural or physical conditions that would prevent them from continuing to fight.

Kiriko can use Swift Step to teleport directly to an ally, even through solid walls. She uses it to reach people who are out of sight, escape attacks, reposition herself, or suddenly enter a fight beside someone who needs help. Her connection to the fox spirit also allows her to summon Kitsune Rush. A fox spirit races forward and creates a path that increases the movement and attack speed of allies who follow it while accelerating their ability recovery. Kiriko can use this to direct a group into a fight and rapidly change the momentum of an engagement.

History/Lore of Kiriko Kamori (Kiriko):

Kiriko was born in Kanezaka to Asa and Toshiro Yamagami. Her father was a skilled bladesmith who worked for the Shimada clan, while her mother was the Shimada's swordmaster and trained Hanzo and Genji. Kiriko grew up alongside the two brothers and trained with them from childhood. Genji in particular became very close to her, treating her like a younger member of the family. Kiriko spent time at Shimada Castle, explored it with Genji, played at the local arcade, and joined the brothers in harmless trouble such as stealing sweets from the kitchen. At the same time, her grandmother cared for the Kanezaka shrine and began teaching Kiriko its traditions and her family's connection to the fox spirit.

Kiriko's childhood changed after Sojiro Shimada was assassinated by the rival Hashimoto clan. The Shimada's power collapsed, Hanzo disappeared after his conflict with Genji, and the Hashimoto took control of Kanezaka. They recognized Kiriko's family as a threat and kidnapped Toshiro, forcing him to make weapons for them. Asa couldn't openly fight back while her husband was being held hostage, so she sent Kiriko to live with her grandmother for protection. Asa also had Kiriko use the surname Kamori, her grandmother's family name, to hide her connection to the Yamagami family.

Under her grandmother's care, Kiriko became a shrine maiden and learned healing, spiritual practices, and the traditions surrounding the fox spirit. She developed a close bond with the spirit while continuing to train in the martial arts her mother had taught her. Her grandmother's teachings gave her a connection to healing and spirituality, while Asa's teachings gave her the discipline and willingness to fight that she needed to defend herself and others. Kiriko never chose one path over the other. She made both part of her life.

After her grandmother died, Kiriko returned to Kanezaka and saw how badly the Hashimoto had damaged the community. Her father remained imprisoned and forced to work for them, while the people around her continued living under their control. Kiriko became the caretaker of the shrine and began actively protecting Kanezaka. She gathered other young protectors known as the Yōkai and fought against the Hashimoto's influence throughout the city. Her goal wasn't simply to defeat individual criminals. She wanted the people of Kanezaka to stop living under the control of an organization that had taken her father and terrorized the community.

Kiriko's return to Kanezaka also brought her back into contact with people from her childhood. She remained close to her mother despite their disagreements over how Kiriko should use her abilities, and she continued working to protect the people of the city. Her connection to Genji and Hanzo remained important as the consequences of the Shimada clan's collapse continued to affect Kanezaka. Kiriko ultimately became both a shrine caretaker and an active protector of her home, combining the spiritual teachings of her grandmother with the ninja training inherited from her mother.
