Kyoko Kirigiri, Sayaka Maizono and Aoi Asahina are all students at Hope's Peak Academy. A school and university for the extremely talented people, even those that are supernaturally talented, Hope's Peak Academy helps nurture and develop further those talents. Students of Hope's Peak are known as Ultimates.

Kyoko Kirigiri, also known as just Kirigiri, is a 19 year old girl. She's the Ultimate Detective, though she keeps said talent as a secret from everyone else.

Personality wise, Kirigiri is a stoic, intelligent, and mysterious girl who tends to hide her feelings. She has a calm demeanor and tends to be completely unfazed by most of the events that occur, even at the sight of a dead body. Kirigiri often keeps her distance from the other students while investigating. She doesn't seem to cooperate with the other students and does most of the investigating by herself. She plays major roles in solving mysteries of the culprits in Class Trials and is also one of very few students that see things objectively and doesn't jump to conclusions in the trial.

Kirigiri is very very sensitive regarding the subject about the Hope's Peak Academy's headmaster (who is her own father, Jin Kirigiri). She also doesn't like it when people keep secrets from her.

Behind Kirigiri's stone-cold personality, she seems to easily get emotionally upset, which is masked by her strong will. Even under calm situations, she sometimes lets her emotions get the best of her. Furthermore, there are some moments that cause her to be visibly surprised, and she also blushes during some rare situations. Kirigiri says that her emotions work fine but she deliberately hides them to make herself really hard to read, but also to give others a calm and composed person to lean on.

Kirigiri's emotional issues are caused by the way her grandfather raised her according to the strict family traditions. The family tradition is to take no sides in order to remain as neutral as possible, because the truth has no bias, though this tradition started during a time when being a detective was a more sacred occupation. Her grandfather also refused to let Kirigiri see her dying mother and even appeared to encourage Kirigiri to dislike her father, as he believed that detective work comes before anything else, even a death of a family member. Notably, this was the one family tradition Kirigiri didn't fully agree with. Her grandfather enforced the idea that her entire sense of self is wrapped up in being a detective, giving the girl some identity issues. He was also strictly overprotective of her, ordering her to not move outside after dark, forbid her from having a cell phone, and always wanted to know what she is doing.

Kirigiri only shows her hands to people she considers to be family.

Since she was a child, Kirigiri has been trained as a detective by her grandfather, Fuhito. She was registered at the Detective Library at age 13 and her DSC number was 919. At the time of enrollment to Hope's Peak, it was upgraded to 910. Befitting the Ultimate Detective, Kirigiri is very good at analyzing clues. Kirigiri can be seen as able to find the good in people's motives too.

Appearance wise, Kirigiri has purple eyes and a pale complexion. She wears her long light lavender hair down with a single braid on her left side, tied with a black ribbon. She has huge breasts, thick thighs and a plump rear alongside slightly noticeable abs.

Kirigiri's standard outfit consists of a dark purple collared blazer jacket with six brown buttons over a zipped up long-sleeved white blouse and brown tie with a bird-like symbol on it. She also wears a black short skirt, heeled knee-high black boots with equally knee-high light purple socks. She notably wears custom-made black studded gloves to conceal the burn marks on her hands she received as an inexperienced detective. Sayaka has a cheerful, sweet, lighthearted, and supporting personality, expressing a kind demeanor and pleasant disposition, although it is unknown if this is only because of her status as an idol.

However, Sayaka tends to hide her feelings when she is under great pressure by putting on her public persona. She cares greatly for her band members, and would not hesitate to do something if anything were to happen to one of them, including things that could hurt others. Sayaka mentions that she often finds herself focused on a particular person, but pushes these thoughts out of her mind to commit herself further to her idol career. She has an amazing intuition, as she can easily tell what people are thinking. She often jokes about being psychic, only to admit that she was kidding briefly after. She enjoys cooking, reading and playing Othello.

As the Ultimate Pop Sensation, Sayaka is said to have a mesmerizing voice, exceptional performance and amazing dancing skills. Because of this, she has gained over 100 million fans and admirers all over the world who call themselves Sayakers. This is actually what led Hope's Peak Academy to approach her.

Sayaka has amazing intuition, and often knows what people are thinking, even when it isn't obvious. She claims this is due to psychic powers she jokes about having. Though a small handful of people have claimed they have gotten flashes of a memory, implying she might have a limited amount of psychic ability, though there is no proof of such.

Appearance wise, Sayaka is a slim girl of average height with a pale complexion. She has long, dark blue hair flowing past her waist, the hair framing her face cut shorter at elbow-length, with bangs swept to the right. Two thin hairclips can be found pinned on her bangs to her right, another pinned on the left side of her face. Her eyes are round and dark blue, likely enhanced by makeup. Sayaka is considered very attractive, most people mentioning that she has a near doll-like beauty. She has huge breasts, thick thighs and a plump rear.

Clothing wise, Sayaka wears a white seifuku school uniform with a blue sailor collar and sleeve cuffs, both striped with two white lines. With this, she wears a light pink ribbon tied in a large bow at her collar and a short, pleated, blue-green plaid skirt. Personality wise, Asahina is a warm, cheerful, upbeat, and outgoing girl who is friendly and welcoming towards everyone she meets, trying to make friends with everybody and include them in her activities. Aoi can be quite air-headed and forgetful, relying on the memory trick of writing people's names three times on her hand in order to remember them - a trick she also taught to her brother, Yuta. Asahina is an extremely athletic person and considers it an absolutely fundamental part of herself, using it as an important coping mechanism in her daily life and feeling like she "might die" if she can't exercise. Although Asahina is a star athlete in the running to become an Olympic swimmer, Asahina is insecure that being athletic, which is seen as quite a masculine activity, makes her undesirable to others and might lead to her never finding love. She's also concerned that her extreme sweet tooth, particularly her love of eating donuts, is going to make her fat. She is extremely loyal to her friends to such a degree that, when they are harmed, it shatters her ability to emotionally cope.

Asahina's athleticism is a core aspect of her personality and sense of self, and she participates in multiple sports including track, basketball, softball, volleyball, tennis, and her favorite sport: competitive swimming. Aoi is a young Olympic cadet who aims to win a Gold Medal for swimming in future Olympic games. Her younger brother Yuta, also a very strong swimmer, admits that Aoi is a better swimmer than him. By her own admission, Asahina spends nearly all of her time training and trying to improve her fitness in some way, including wearing shorts all year round - even in winter - to build up her resistance to sickness, and practising the self-healing technique known as Kanpu masatsu.

For Asahina, her love of sports doesn't come from her desire to win, but for the love of competing and striving to better herself.

Due to her fitness and athleticism, Asahina is capable of holding her own in a fight if necessary. She is also much stronger than her small frame suggests, able to run at top speed for long periods of time while carrying a weight of 52kg.
