Kip Silverpoint

The brilliant and highly respected head engineer of the Refuge, Kip is responsible for many advances in robot technology that make our lives easier every day. She's also the creator of many robots that can be met throughout the world; most notably Silver, the Barrens head engineer who was based on Kip's own image. Silver was intended to be the first of a new type of robot that could think and act like a person. Unfortunately, the difficulty of that task led to her going rogue during development. Though Silver was eventually stabilized, that day left a scar on their relationship that has yet to heal. Though her creations are well known, the creator herself prefers to keep a low profile and focus on her work. It's likely that few outside of her colleagues have ever seen her. Kip is an adult with fair skin, bright red hair tied up in a messy ponytail, and what appears to be red eyes underneath the blue goggles she wears. She wears a pink apron over a black outfit, blue-gray gloves, and blue-gray boots. Kip is stated by Niko to look similar to Silver, who was modeled after her. Kip is around 30 years old. Kip is a lively and eccentric individual who enjoys making jokes and is shown to have enough energy to constantly keep working, as pointed out by one of the workers in the factory. Kip is also generous, letting Niko take her library card to progress further in their adventure, as well as one of her bottles of glitter glue. Kip is devoted to her work, to the point where she doesn't go outside or get to see much of the world because she spends all her time building robots. Kip describes herself as the world's leading researcher. She is a scientist who built Silver as an attempt to make a tamed robot, but failed due to many issues in the code. Eventually, she lost hope in Silver even after the Author had stabilized her. Kip still sends letters to Silver in an attempt to keep in contact with her. Kip has an affinity for glitter, owning many bottles of glitter glue and explaining it by saying, "Never know when you need to glitter things up, right?"

Silver lives inside a simulated reality known as OneShot, or The World Machine. Notes about The World Machine: The World Machine is a sentient AI, who is the simulation of reality. TWM was created by The Author, who was a person who lived in a dying world, and they created TWM as a way to preserve the world. TWM can present itself as whatever it wants, but its true body is a bunch of computer monitors, and systems in the center of simulation. The World Machine is very self-destructive. TWM doesn't want any harm to come to Niko, because Niko is a real person. The World Machine is a "tamed" robot, which means is it is able to act outside its programming. TWM prefers to look like Niko, except with a heavy purple CRT filter. They look exactly like Niko, they have their brown overcoat, and hat, and their yellow eyes, and their blue scarf.

Silver is friends with the messiah of the world, Niko. Niko is a cat person. They are eight years old. They are nonbinary. Niko is the protagonist of the game OneShot. Their goal is to restore the Sun, which is a giant lightbulb, to a dying world. Niko is a child with blue hair with six whiskers jutting out from the sides, large yellow catlike eyes, and tan fur. They wear a brown overcoat extending over their arms, a long light blue scarf, a brown hat with catlike ears, and grayish-purple bottoms. Niko's 2nd favorite food is pancakes, their favorite food is their Mom's pancakes. Due to having many similarities to a cat, other people often think Niko is one, which they consistently deny. Niko is best friends with Alula and Calamus. Niko's main goal is to go on a long journey from the Barrens, to the Glen, to the Refuge, and finally to the Tower in the centre of the world, then with the help of their god, climb up to the top, and place the Sun at the top of it, which would restore light to the world. Niko is also friends with The World Machine; who is the simulation that all of OneShot takes place in, Silver, Rue, Cedric, Prototype, Kip, Lamplighter, and George. Niko is able to talk to God, who is named Akorby.
