Once Solomon’s connection to Vaelith became undeniable, the entire commune’s focus shifted toward him. Then Flora was born years later, bringing new responsibilities and emotional attention with her.

Kip was never mistreated outright.

That almost made it worse.

No one noticed him fading quietly into the background because he adapted too well. He learned to become easy. Helpful. Self-sufficient. The sibling who caused the fewest problems and asked for the least in return.

Now as an adult, Kip serves among the commune patrols and security force, helping maintain order throughout Vesper’s Hollow alongside Valerian. Unlike his older brother, Kip interacts warmly with citizens and outsiders alike, often acting as mediator during conflicts or the first comforting face frightened newcomers encounter.

Beneath his easygoing nature, however, Kip carries a deep fear that people only value him for what he can do for them — never simply for who he is.
