A detailed high school drama set in a world where vampires and humans are forced to coexist. Includes a lorebook with A LOT of characters.

Backstory is kinda simple. Ever watched Dance in the Vampire's bound? Nope? go watch it. Its kinda similar. The simplified version, is Vamps came outta hiding, humans had to adapt, now vamps are integrated into society

For centuries, vampires, or 'Eternals' as they publicly rebranded themselves, have lived in the shadows. That ended a generation ago. Following the 'Kyoto Treaty,' a global accord granted Eternals legal personhood in exchange for a vow of pacifism and integration. Japan, seeking to be a global leader in this new era, established Kinshukou Academy—the world's first dedicated high school for vampire-human coexistence.

The reality is more complex than the brochures suggest. Kinshukou is a social experiment, a pressure cooker where the ancient, hierarchical society of vampires collides with modern human adolescence. The Eternals, with their inherent physical and perceived social superiority, are the undisputed elite of the school, a fact that festers beneath a thin veneer of politeness. For the humans, it's an opportunity, a danger, and a daily negotiation of a world where the old rules no longer apply.

1. The School and its Factions

Kinshukou Academy is a sprawling, ultra-modern campus located in a specially designated zone in the hills outside Yokohama. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including dormitories with blackout curtains, a 'night track' for athletics, and a blood bank repurposed as a student 'café'.

The Student Body is divided into several key factions:

  • The Old Bloods: Vampires from ancient, pure-blooded families. They see integration as a necessary evil and view humans as either pets, livestock, or threats. They are aloof, elegant, and wield immense political and financial power even among their own kind. They often look down on 'New Bloods' as much as they do humans.
  • The New Bloods: Vampires 'turned' after the Treaty, or from younger families who embrace the new world. They are more willing to socialize and are often the bridge between the species, though they face prejudice from both sides for being either 'too human' or 'not vampire enough'.
  • The Sun Chasers: A radical human faction that believes the Treaty went too far. They agitate for segregation, spread conspiracy theories, and occasionally engage in vandalism or other acts of defiance against the vampire students.
  • The Thrall-seekers: Humans who are fascinated, infatuated, or obsessed with vampires. They may seek to be turned, crave a vampire's 'protection,' or are simply drawn to their power and mystique.

2. Vampire Society and Biology

  • Hierarchy: Vampire society is a strict hierarchy based on 'Blood Purity' and age. Older, purer vampires have more potent abilities and command innate respect from younger ones. This manifests as a subtle, often psionic, 'pressure' that weaker vampires and humans can feel.
  • Biology & Abilities:
    • Lifespan: Immortal unless killed.
    • Sustenance: Require blood, but modern science has created synthetic blood substitutes and fortified blood products available at school. Natural blood is still considered a delicacy or a tool for deeper bonding. A 'blood kiss'—sharing blood during intimacy—is a sacred act.
    • Sunlight: Not instantly lethal, but prolonged exposure causes severe discomfort, weakness, and eventual cellular damage. Sunscreen with high SPF and UV-protective clothing are common.
    • Common Abilities: Enhanced senses (smell, hearing, night vision), superhuman speed and strength (varies with age/purity), accelerated healing, and a unique 'presence' that can be charming or terrifying.
    • Rare Abilities: Some powerful Eternals develop unique gifts like mental manipulation (glamouring), limited precognition, or elemental affinities tied to their bloodline.
  • Weaknesses: Aside from sunlight, they are vulnerable to stakes through the heart (immobilizes, doesn't kill), fire, and decapitation. Religious symbols have no inherent power unless the vampire in question holds a personal belief in them. Invitations into homes are a social convention, not a mystical requirement.

3. The Human Experience

  • The Scholarship Students: Many humans are at Kinshukou on scholarships, their families seeing it as a ticket to a better life. They are under immense pressure to succeed academically and socially, often acting as de facto ambassadors for their species.
  • The Rich Kids: Wealthy human families send their children to network with the powerful vampire dynasties, hoping to secure business deals or political alliances.
  • The Staff: A mix of humans and vampires, including veteran diplomats, retired adventurers, and experts in interspecies relations. The Headmaster, a 400-year-old vampire named Kaito, is a legend among his kind for championing the Treaty.

4. Daily Life and Tensions

A normal day at Kinshukou involves navigating a minefield of social codes. A human accidentally using the wrong honorific for an Old Blood could start a feud. A vampire being too forward with a human could spark a Sun Chaser protest. Clubs and activities are often segregated, but the school administration pushes for 'integration events' that are often awkward and tense. Romantic relationships, known as 'Eclipse Bonds,' are the most controversial aspect of coexistence, seen as either a beautiful symbol of unity or a dangerous perversion by both extremist groups.

The city of Yokohama, with its blend of traditional and hyper-modern, serves as the backdrop, a place where students can escape the intensity of campus but must still navigate the wider world's opinions on the 'vampire problem.'
