Kinkajou is a young, energetic RainWing dragonet known for her bright, sunny appearance. She typically has vivid yellow scales with pink/magenta underwings, tail tip, snout, and triangular spikes, though she can change color. She is described as small, fast, and having large, dark green eyes. Kinkajou from Wings of Fire is a highly energetic, optimistic, and talkative young RainWing known for her bright yellow and pink scales. Despite her bubbly exterior, she is fiercely protective of friends, exceptionally brave, and, having been kidnapped as a dragonet, often rushes into danger without hesitation.

she was one of the RainWing dragonets kidnapped by NightWings. She was held captive on the NightWing island before being rescued, subsequently joining the Jade Winglet as a student at Jade Mountain Academy in the second arc While on the NightWing island during the first arc, the NightWings subjected Kinkajou and the other kidnapped RainWings to cruel living conditions and scientific torture. Treatment and Torture: Cruel Scientific Experiments: The NightWing scientist Mastermind used the kidnapped RainWings as test subjects to study their venom. These experiments were physically agonizing and often involved testing how much venom a dragon could produce before running out, or what materials the venom could dissolve. Physical Imprisonment: Kinkajou was held in a specialized RainWing prison where she and others were kept in chains within the tribe's volcanic fortress. Dehumanization: The NightWings treated their captives as objects rather than sentient beings. They generally did not even ask for the RainWings' names; for instance, the RainWing Orchid noted that Starflight was the first dragon to ever ask for hers while on the island. Starvation and Neglect: The island was a barren, volcanic wasteland with almost no food. While the NightWings themselves were malnourished and eating carrion once a week, the prisoners were given even less, leaving them weak and despairing. The NightWings' Plan Hostile Takeover: The NightWings were secretly planning to invade the rainforest and replace the RainWings entirely because their volcanic home was becoming uninhabitable. They viewed the RainWings as "lazy" and "stupid," making them easy targets for displacement. Fake Prophecy: To justify this eventual takeover, the NightWing elders (including Morrowseer and Battlewinner) created the Dragonet Prophecy as a cover to manipulate the War of SandWing Succession and eventually secure the rainforest for themselves.

MudWings: Thick, armored scales (often brown, amber, or gold) similar to alligators or crocodiles. They are large and muscular with flat heads and nostrils on top of their snouts for breathing while submerged. SandWings: Pale gold or white scales resembling sand, with black forked tongues and diamond-shaped venomous stings at the end of their tails. They have black eyes and can survive extreme heat. SkyWings: Massive wings, often described as having red, orange, or gold scales. They have very large wings, sleek bodies, and sharp, hooked talons for catching prey in the mountains. SeaWings: Blue, green, or aquamarine scales with webbed claws for swimming and gills on their necks. They have bioluminescent stripes running along their tails, snouts, and underbellies, which they use to communicate. RainWings: Scales that shift color to match their mood or environment (often bright and varied). They possess prehensile tails for climbing, sleek, graceful forms, and can produce venom from their fangs. IceWings: Silvery-white or pale blue scales that blend into the ice. They have ridged, freezing-cold claws, a whip-thin tail for balance, and jagged spikes along their back. NightWings: Dark purple, blue, or black scales, often with silver-speckled underwings resembling a night sky. They have straight, conical horns, a line of spikes from head to tail, and a reputation for being slightly thicker or broader than other tribes.

Queen Glory (RainWings & NightWings) Appearance: She has brilliant, color-changing scales that she often keeps in a "rest" state of dark emerald green with orange flares around her ears and wing undersides. She is considered very beautiful and elegant, with a long body, feathery ears, and green eyes. Personality: Highly intelligent, sarcastic, and fiercely protective. Unlike previous RainWing rulers, she is a hardworking and fair queen who takes her responsibilities to both her tribes seriously, often choosing peace and cooperation over vengeance.

Queen Ruby (SkyWings) Appearance: A majestic dragon with deep, dark red scales and wings, a long neck, and a diamond-shaped head. She has small rubies embedded in the scales around her eyes and wears silver rings with larger rubies on her claws. Personality: Compassionate and selfless, Ruby focus is on healing her tribe after the tyranny of her mother, Queen Scarlet. She is a dedicated leader who values peace and the safety of her subjects above all else.

Queen Thorn (SandWings) Appearance: Small, wiry, and compact with pale sandy-yellow scales dappled with brown speckles. She has kind, dark black eyes and wears the Eye of Onyx on a golden chain around her neck. Personality: A perceptive, no-nonsense leader who is both friendly and dangerous when necessary. She is noted for her fairness and for treating her subjects as equals rather than inferiors. Queen Glacier (IceWings) Appearance: Tall, huge, and regal with shimmering white scales and arctic-blue eyes. She was often described as one of the most majestic and imposing queens in Pyrrhia. Personality: Stoic, practical, and deeply dedicated to her tribe’s survival. While she could be stern, she was respected for her brilliant diplomacy and for choosing a path of cooperation even in difficult times.

Queen Coral (SeaWings) Appearance: A massive, deep blue dragon with glowing bioluminescent scales and strands of pearls and emeralds draped over her body. Personality: A talented writer who is also deeply paranoid and prone to overprotectiveness regarding her heirs. She is fiercely dedicated to her kingdom but can be ruthless and volatile if she perceives a threat to her family.

Queen Moorhe (MudWings) Appearance: A large, thick-set dragon with armored brown and gray scales, a flat head, and a powerful, heavy frame. Personality: One of the most stable and reasonable queens, she is known for being selfless and calm. She prioritizes the safety of her "siblings" and her tribe, often preferring to avoid conflict whenever possible.

RainWing scales constantly shift colors, typically reflecting their bright rainforest environment or their emotions (like pink for happy, red for angry, green for displeased), allowing for excellent camouflage or display, but sunlight "recharges" them, making colors more vibrant, aiding abilities, and boosting mood, with some lacking this due to cave life or deformity. They can bend light to mimic surroundings, other dragons, or just their preference, often having a "default" set of colors when calm, but strong feelings can override their chosen hues.

Jade Mountain Academy from Wings of Fire is a sprawling school built within a, mountain featuring fang-shaped peaks, designed for dragonet education. It features a large central Great Hall, numerous caves for classes and living, and a, central mountain tree with platforms, all designed to blend into the mountain’s structure.
