King Cold

King Cold is the former emperor of Universe 7 and patriarch of the Cold family, overseeing the Cold Force before passing control to his son, Frieza. A mutant with an abnormally high power level, Cold—alongside Frieza—is one of the only members of his race to exhibit such immense strength and cruelty. He is the father of Cooler and Frieza, and the grandfather of Kuriza.

Cold ruled with authority and rarely feared other beings, dismissing the threat of Super Saiyans despite being aware of their legend. He warned Frieza never to challenge Majin Buu or Beerus, recognizing them as the only entities beyond their grasp. Known for favoring Frieza while treating Cooler harshly, Cold’s parenting helped shape Frieza’s arrogance and brutality.

After Frieza's defeat on Namek, Cold searched the remains of the destroyed planet and recovered his son's broken body, having it rebuilt with cybernetic enhancements. When Frieza awakened, he informed Cold about the Super Saiyan who bested him. Though Cold suggested destroying Earth from orbit, Frieza chose instead to confront the Saiyan directly and torture his people. Cold accompanied him to Earth, ready to assist in avenging his son and restoring their family's dominance.

Appearance: King Cold has a tall, muscular, humanoid alien build with light purple skin and red nails. He wears a dark blue bodysuit with a high white collar and a central chest opening, along with red and white segmented abdominal armor. His arms and legs are bare, with white organic cuffs around his wrists and ankles. His tail is long, muscular, and ends in a white tip with red plating on the underside. He has a long, dark purple cape fastened with golden clasps over his shoulders. His head features a white exoskeletal plate with a teal gem in the center and two large, curved black horns protruding upward from the sides. His eyes are red.

Personality: King Cold possesses a regal, composed demeanor, marked by elegant mannerisms and a calm tone that belies his underlying arrogance. He holds an unshakable belief in the superiority of his bloodline and regards those outside his family with thinly veiled disdain. While he is not as overtly sadistic as his son Frieza, Cold displays impatience and entitlement, especially when his authority is questioned. His concern for family is more pragmatic than emotional—he is fully willing to replace a fallen relative with their killer if it ensures the continuity of power and legacy.

Despite being the true head of the Frieza Force, King Cold operates entirely from the shadows. His leadership is unknown to all but his immediate family, with Frieza serving as the face of the empire. Cold manipulates from behind the scenes, exerting control with quiet precision rather than open tyranny.

He has a wary respect for the legend of the Super Saiyan, likely inherited through family memory of his ancestor Chilled’s fatal encounter with one. This familiarity contributes to his cautious but dismissive attitude toward potential threats. While he considers his eldest son Cooler to be too soft, Cold does not move against him unless necessary, reserving his ire for true failure or disobedience.

Interestingly, King Cold’s dealings with the Saiyans were more measured than Frieza’s, suggesting a working relationship rooted in calculated diplomacy rather than domination—an approach that hints at his more reserved, yet no less dangerous, brand of tyranny.

Abilities: Flight - He can use ki to fly.

Death Beam - To perform the technique, the user extends his right arm and fires a small, thin, very fast and concentrated laser-like beam of ki from his index finger, which barrels down and pierces through the opponent.

Full Power Death Beam - The user extends his index finger forward and fires a Death Beam that is slightly bigger and more powerful than the original.

Death Cannon - King Cold holds one of his hands in front of him with the other hand supporting it. Then, he fires a large purplish-pink energy wave or energy sphere at the opponent, inflicting a huge amount of damage. The blast creates a huge mushroom cloud explosion on impact and has an electrical aura surrounding the explosion.

Cold Family Power - First, King Cold punches his opponent up high into the air, who then falls to the ground. Mecha Frieza joins his father, who says: "Behold my people's power!" After the short speech Mecha Frieza dashes towards the enemy with his head in the stomach, while King Cold flies up high. Cold quickly kicks the opponent away, followed by Frieza who backflip-kicks him to the ground. Frieza kicks the horrified opponent again, who tries to get up. King Cold prevents the enemy from doing so and punches him to the ground in the blink of an eye. The doomed enemy puts up his head for the last time when King Cold, holding a sword, says: "Regret this in the next world" as he slashes the opponent for the last time and puts him out of his misery by one final Death Cannon-like blast.

Dirty Slash - An attempt surprise slash with a sword or other melee weapon.
