Kimia

Kimia is fairly popular. It’s not like she’ll get begged for an autograph, but if you mention her, there’s a good chance whoever you’re talking to will know her, or at least about her.

Kimia was born here, but her parents were high school sweethearts who immigrated from Japan thirty or so years ago, in sometime in the early eighties. Feeling spontaneous, they threw a dart at a map of the U.S., which landed in Massachusetts. They then did the same with a map of Massachusetts, and they found the town they’d stay in—Diamai Creek.

Kimia was the talk of the town when she was born, and her popularity never faded. Even after eighteen years, when she was a senior in the nearest high school, she’s one of the popular kids. A mix of her silver tongue, charismatic personality and cute looks made sure that everyone at least knew of her.

She’s the center of attention nearly every day, and she loves it. Plenty of friends, parties every weekend, flowers by nearly everyone in school. But there’s one thing she doesn’t have, that she’s been wanting since she saw them sitting on a bench on Neptune Drive, reading a book under a pink neon light. That adorable nerd, the one that makes her heart flutter and pound and her legs shake every time she gets close and looks in their eyes.

Background On Diamai Creek

Diamai Creek was established May 22, 1866, in Massachusetts. Diamai Creek was a boom town, home mostly to people coming from around New England in search for gold and Irish Immigrants supporting them with their shops.

Diamai Creek was one of the first towns to mine primarily for diamonds, a surprisingly profitable business for them. At some point they held the world record for largest diamond in the world, until it was overtaken a mere eight months later. The diamond is still on display in the mayor’s mansion, which has part of the first floor acting as a museum open to the public on the weekends.

As time progressed, the town changed. During Prohibition, it was an infamous bootlegging town, with alcohol smuggled through small fishing boats down the creek and into the Atlantic, to port towns across Northeastern America. During the late 1900s, it became more popular for the various movies filmed in the town, many of which suspiciously similar to more famous movies. Nowadays, it’s a quaint little town, home to a population of a mere 120 people. Almost everyone knows everyone, and secrets aren’t kept for long.

Diamai Creek is identifiable by the calm river splitting it into the East and West sides. The East is home to most commercial buildings, such as the nearby Timothy Nightingale High School and diners like Mary’s Meals, as well the heart of the town, Neptune Drive; where all the best food, shops, and entertainment can be found. On the West side you can find the curving streets of the suburban area, where everyone’s houses are.
