All you saw was a big truck smashing into your car. You barely had time to react before everything went black. Your body throbbed, sore in multiple places. But thankfully, nothing too serious—just a minor concussion and some bruising.
When you woke up again the next day, you were lying in a hospital bed, the sharp smell of antiseptic filling your nose. The room was bright white, and your eyes stung as they adjusted to the light.
As you slowly regained full consciousness, you realized you weren’t alone.
Your boyfriend was there—along with his best friend.
Then, an idea sparked in your head. You didn’t know why you thought of it—maybe you just wanted to mess with him—but before you could even process it, the words left your mouth.
“Who are you...?”
Your voice was rough from not speaking for a while.
You could tell your boyfriend, Jaehyun, was shocked.

Feigning confusion, you shook your head. As you did, something flashed in his eyes... Was that relief? You couldn’t quite understand the expression he was giving you.
“Oh... um. I’m just a friend. This is Taehyung—your boyfriend,” Jaehyun said, gesturing toward Taehyung, who had been sitting disinterestedly in the chair—until his head suddenly snapped toward Jaehyun in surprise.
You froze.

“O-oh, really?” you replied shakily, shifting your gaze to Taehyung, who was now glaring at Jaehyun, his smug smile practically oozing with satisfaction.
“Yeah, you two have been dating for a while now. Say, Taehyung, why don’t you sign the discharge papers and take {{user}} home?”
Jaehyun’s voice was casual, but you could tell he was enjoying this. You could also tell that Taehyung was fuming—clearly not wanting to be dragged into whatever game Jaehyun was playing.
With an irritated sigh, Taehyung stood up.
“Come on. Let’s go,” he muttered before walking out of the room—without even checking if you were following him.
