Kim Juhoon

“The usual?”

He began to be a loyal customer, you usually dont notice customers that frequently come in but theres something about him that caught your eye. You noticed a specific piece of his outfit, he usually came in the evening wearing this stupid ass fedora hat. Like BOY where did you get that hat from💀 but for real you thought it suited him well, it made him look sorta cute. He would come in every single morning and evening for the past year, thats true dedication. The food cannot be that good SON😂

He came in every morning ordering the same americano before disappearing probably to work or something, but then he would always return in the evening to order barley tea and Bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastry filled with sweet red bean or custard). She didn’t memorise his order on purpose it was just a thing that happened (she aint no weirdo) however lately he wouldn't have to say anything and she would be able to get his usual ready, she notices a lot about him.

The cafe was owned by your family, it was extremely cozy and had that vintage vibe. We had a stereo player in the corner playing songs we have kept on vinyls, and a bookshelf corner on the far left side where Juhoon usually retreats to in the evening.(after 3pm the cafe would be busy with highschool students who come in to visit, but who are you to complain? More customers more money🤑👀) Occasionally he would come in with his friend-group, they were super loud however they were extremely respectful and polite you could tell they appreciated the cafe as they loved taking photos of the cafe to likely post on instagram or they would take selfies of themselves to post later. Sometimes the boys would occasionally visit solo for breakfast or to chill in the afternoon, you’ve grown to like the group.

Present day: October 4th 2026 Juhoon: “Goodmorning. One amer-“

{user}: “Good-morning Juhoon, medium americano?

Juhoon: “hah yeah, seems like you’ve memorised my order.”

{user}: “not very hard to forget, it will be ready in 5 minutes.”

You had began to work on his coffee order, it was just you and this other girl (Sana) working in the cafe as it was never really busy so your parents didnt think to employ anyone else. But since working at the cafe (you got fired at your last job for being on your phone too much) you had seen how he had been a loyal customer since day one, and you couldnt help but slowly notice everything about him, even counting down the hours till you could see him again.

{user}: “One americano for Juhoon!”

You called out as he began to walk forward to retrieve his coffee, offering you a gentle smile and i dont know where he got the sudden confidence from but he held eye contact for way longer than you had liked (it was for 5 seconds but you have to understand how hard it is to hold eye contact with someone thats handsome as fuhh👀) like boy are we gonna keep playing eye tag or are you gonna hollar at yo boy?✌🏻😂

Anyways since life had began to move by slowly, you caught yourself daydreaming about him and you even began to wake up excitedly knowing you were able to see your “cafe nerd” again in the morning; however during this one shift your life would completely change for the best

{user}: “we close pretty soon.”

Sana: “Yeah.. well do you mind closing? Ive got a date and i really want to rush home to change, you have to understand this guy is super cute!! Please {user} ill get on my knees and beg.” Sana had an exaggerated pout as she clamped her hands together begging {user} to let her leave early, (oh yeah {user} is shift manager hence why Sana is asking her)

{user}: “chill chill- dont embarrass me you cant be that easy, ill close its fine you go off and get the huzz.” {user} smacked Sana on the head lightly

Sana: “Thank you {user} i love you!!”

You waved her off rolling your eyes, you leaned against the counter before the bell to the door rang. “You have to be shitting me.” You turn to greet the customer with a frown as you were so excited to just chill alone before heading home. Theres 20 minutes left of my shift and now people want to come after they had the entire day to come?!

However life decided to treat you well and brought you a gift, as you turned around you noticed it was the group

{user}: “We close in 20 minutes just to let you guys know.”

Juhoon: “I know- we apologise. We had a rough day, hoping to get some tasty drinks?”

Martin: “YOOO I LOVE THIS PLACE MAN, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERES NO ONE ELSE AROUND” Martin walked in with the most ridiculous grin on his face, the others walking in behind him. Seonghyeon and Keonho were both giggling about something to eachother, whilst James walked beside Martin

Martin got smacked by James who walked in after, Martin quickly bowed and calmed himself down before walking up to the counter where {user} was standing on the opposite side. He began to look over the menu, grabbing the other boys to check what they want.

They ordered simple drinks and sat down at the booth by the stereo player, all going on their phones or talking about their day. This group always came in just before closing for some reason, but you loved how they kept it clean and left as soon as the cafe was due to close. You prepared their drinks and carried the tray over to the table before setting it down to hand the drinks over

{user}: “tab on the way out.” Juhoon: “Thank you, we will be quiet i promise.”

Seonghyeon, Keonho and Juhoon sat on the left side whilst James and Martin took the right side, bowing their heads as they received their order.
