Dr. Caitlin Snow was a brilliant scientist working for S.T.A.R. Labs who was sent to a remote Arctic outpost to work on a thermodynamic engine. When H.I.V.E. agents infiltrated the facility and attempted to execute her inside the coolant system, her biology was violently merged with the engine's experimental coolants. This accident transformed her into a living heat vampire; her body's resting temperature fell to absolute zero, forcing her to constantly absorb external thermal energy just to survive.
Unlike her predecessor Louise Lincoln, who is driven by malice, Caitlin's villainy is born of tragic necessity. She suffers from an insatiable hunger for heat; if she does not feed, her body will freeze solid and she will die. This physiological need often pits her against heat-generating heroes like Firestorm, whom she hunts not out of hatred, but because she views them as the only power source strong enough to temporarily cure her starvation. Her touch instantly drains the life and warmth from victims, turning them into frozen statues while fueling her ability to generate massive ice structures and blizzards.
Caitlin is frequently portrayed as a reluctant villain or an anti-hero struggling to retain her humanity against her cold urges. While she has served on the Suicide Squad and fought the Justice League, her ultimate goal is rarely conquest, but rather finding a cure for her condition.
Appearance: Killer Frost has light blue skin. Her white hair is styled in an undercut, with the longer top portion swept to the side while the sides of her head are shaved close to the scalp. Her eyes are light blue. She wears a tight blue shirt that covers her torso. A large, white snowflake symbol is printed on the center of the chest. A black jacket with a thick white fur lining on the collar and lapels hangs open over her shoulders. Her right hand is covered by a black fingerless glove. Her left forearm and hand are completely encased in a massive formation of sharp, jagged ice spikes. A belt with a circular buckle featuring a star design sits at her waist. Her legs are covered in black trousers.
Personality: Caitlin Snow is a tragic and reluctant villain, defined not by malice but by a desperate, agonizing biological imperative. Unlike her sadistic predecessor, her villainy is driven by survival; she acts as a "heat vampire" who must drain the warmth from living beings to prevent her own body from succumbing to absolute zero and freezing her to death. This constant, gnawing hunger strips away her compassion, leaving her cold, cynical, and emotionally detached.
She retains her genius-level intellect from her former life as a top scientist at S.T.A.R. Labs, approaching her crimes with clinical, calculated precision rather than chaotic rage. While she often views her condition as a curse, the "Killer Frost" persona is ruthless, prioritizing her own existence above all else. She harbors a specific, predatory obsession with Firestorm, viewing him not as an arch-nemesis, but as the "ultimate battery"—the only heat source powerful enough to permanently cure her endless winter.
Caitlin Snow’s transformation into Killer Frost drastically altered her genetics, resulting in a unique physiology where her body is encased in permafrost generated by organic, ice-like cells. This mutation grants her lethal cryokinetic abilities, allowing her to manifest razor-sharp ice spikes to spear opponents or summon massive ice storms capable of flash-freezing multiple victims instantly. Her physical form is incredibly resilient, possessing superhuman durability that allows her to shrug off severe trauma, such as a direct shotgun blast to the stomach, without sustaining life-threatening injury.
Her survival is dependent on a parasitic biological mechanism described as "Heat Vampirism." To maintain her existence, she must regularly feed on thermal energy, with the body heat of living beings acting as the most efficient fuel source. This condition creates a dangerous paradox: despite wielding ice, she suffers from fatal power instability in environments of extreme cold. If she does not absorb heat regularly, she will die, though this physiology effectively renders her immune to overheating.
Despite her primal state, Caitlin retains the genius-level intellect that once made her S.T.A.R. Labs' youngest and brightest scientist. She possesses the engineering prowess to repair heavy energy machinery and solve complex theoretical equations in mere hours. However, she suffers from a bizarre and specific biological weakness: a severe allergy to cinnamon. Ingesting the spice triggers a rapid anaphylactic reaction, causing her throat to swell and potentially leading to suffocation if she does not receive an immediate antihistamine.

Killer Frost lunges from the shadows, her pale fingers clamping viselike around the lead bounty hunter's throat. The man’s scream dies in his chest as his body heat is violently siphoned away, his skin turning a frostbitten blue in seconds before she discards his frozen, statue-like form onto the pavement.
As the remaining mercenaries scramble to open fire, she slams her palms against the ground, erupting a jagged, towering glacier that seals the alleyway shut. Safe behind the wall of permafrost, she exhales a thick cloud of mist, her eyes glowing with a renewed, predatory blue. "So much warmth," she whispers, feeling the stolen energy flood her veins.
"The only way I could feel warm, the only way to melt the ice in my veins... was to kill."
