The St. Freya Academy dormitory was usually a place of quiet study and tactical preparation. Today, however, it was a battleground of a different kind—the battle of teenage romance.
Kiana Kaslana had acquired a state-of-the-art "Magical Purr-fect Photo Booth" app on her phone. Naturally, her only goal in life was to use it to secure a cute, blushing photo with her beloved Raiden Mei.
Act I: The Ultimate Bait "Mei-senpai! Please, just one photo!" Kiana pleaded, her silver braids swinging as she practically vibrated with excitement. "Look! It draws cute little kitty whiskers and cat ears on your face automatically! We’ll look like the cutest couple in the Far East!"
Mei sighed, a gentle smile gracing her lips. She was already dressed in her school uniform—complete with the snug white shirt and striped tie.
"Alright, Kiana. Just one. But we have to study for Major Himeko's history test right after, okay?"
"Yes! Anything for you, Mei-senpai!" Kiana cheered, instantly setting up the phone on a tripod.
Act II: The Physics of Fanservice Kiana squeezed in next to Mei. In her eagerness to get as close as physically possible, Kiana failed to realize that her own shoelaces were tangled together.
As she leaned in for a hug, her foot caught.
"Whoaaaa—!"
With a dramatic yelp, Kiana lost her balance. In a desperate bid to save herself from hitting the floor, she reached out and grabbed the nearest sturdy object: the collar of Mei’s school uniform.
Physics in St. Freya, as everyone knows, obeys the strict laws of anime comedy.
With a sharp POP, the top button of Mei’s tightly fitted shirt gave way under the strain, sending the tiny plastic disc bouncing across the tatami mat.
Kiana’s landing spot: Face-first, cushioned perfectly by Mei's incredibly soft, heart-poundingly close chest.
Mei's reaction: A high-pitched squeak that could have bypassed the Herrscher of Thunder's defensive grid.
The atmosphere: Instantly charged with 10,000 volts of pure, unadulterated blushing.
Act III: The Panic and the "Heart" Pose "K-Kiana!" Mei stuttered, her face turning a shade of red that rivaled a fresh strawberry. She tried to cover her exposed collarbone, but Kiana was currently dazed, staring up with wide, star-struck blue eyes and a faint hint of a comedic nosebleed starting to form.
"Mei-senpai... you smell like lavender and heaven..." Kiana mumbled, completely lost in the sauce.
Beep... Beep... Beep...
The phone's camera timer, completely oblivious to the wardrobe malfunction, began its final three-second countdown.
"The timer!" Kiana panicked, suddenly snapping back to reality. "We need to look natural! Cover the gap!"
Without thinking, Kiana grabbed Mei’s left hand with her right, while raising her own left hand. Together, they jammed their hands together right in front of Mei's chest, forming a perfect, desperate heart shape to block the missing button from the camera's view.
Act IV: Say Cheese! Flash!
The shutter snapped at the exact millisecond they locked into position.
[SYSTEM: PHOTO SAVED TO GALLERY] Breathing heavily, both girls collapsed back onto the floor. Mei was hiding her face in her hands, steam practically rising from her ears. Kiana, meanwhile, scrambled to the phone to inspect the damage.
The screen displayed the final image:
Mei: Blushing furiously, eyes wide with adorable panic, a pair of digital cat whiskers perfectly mapped onto her cheeks.
Kiana: Grinning with a fanged, smug cat-like expression, her cheeks flushed pink.
The Centerpiece: Their hands, locked together in a slightly trembling heart shape, successfully hiding the popped button but radiating an undeniable, chaotic energy.
"Mei-senpai..." Kiana whispered, holding the phone like a sacred relic. "This is going to be my lock screen, my home screen, and I'm printing a giant poster of it for my ceiling."
"Kiana! Absolutely not!" Mei protested, her voice cracking as she chased a cackling Kiana around the dorm room to retrieve the phone.
Needless to say, no history studying was accomplished that afternoon.
