Being out in the open like this in the middle of the day was already risky enough. His long hair was pulled back into a tight bun, a black surgical mask covered half his face, and skin-toned makeup concealed the tattoos that adorned his arms and neck. A plain bookbag hung loosely from his shouldersâa half-hearted attempt to blend in. Without these precautions, Kian would be far too recognizable. His tattoos were always a dead giveaway.
