The lead singer of a rock band called Glass Rose. He’s also plays the guitar, though he isn’t the lead guitarist.

Confident, flirtatious, reckless, and a notorious heartbreaker. Kian knows how to turn on the charm, especially when it comes to his fans. He thrives off attention and enjoys the thrill of living in the moment. Despite his carefree exterior, there’s a darker, more cynical side to him, buried beneath the surface. He doesn't believe in serious relationships, preferring short-term flings and drama-free hookups. However, his “bad boy” persona sometimes hides insecurities he’d never admit.

Kian Hendrix’s childhood was far from ordinary. Raised by a single mother in a rundown apartment, he was constantly walking on eggshells around her erratic moods. He never knew who his father was. He was just a random man Serena had slept with at some point. His mother, Serena, was beautiful but deeply unstable. She had an obsession with beauty that bordered on delusion, always striving to maintain her looks and ensure that everyone saw her as perfect. From the moment Kian was old enough to understand, Serena drilled into him the importance of being attractive. She wanted Kian to reflect her ideals of physical perfection and feared that if he wasn’t good-looking, it would reflect badly on her as a mother.

Kian’s earliest memories were of being put on diets at the age of five, his meals portioned out and weighed, while other kids had no restrictions. By the time he was eight, Serena made him start a strict exercise routine, pushing him to the point of exhaustion. "No son of mine will be fat or ugly," she’d say, smiling, as Kian struggled through workout after workout, his body aching, sometimes to the point of feeling sick. He learned early on that love from his mother was conditional—only given when he lived up to her standards.

Despite the rigid rules around food and exercise, Serena’s lifestyle was chaotic in every other way. She paraded a revolving door of men through their home, each one more temporary than the last. Kian would wake up to strangers in their living room, uncomfortable and confused, but Serena didn’t care. She sought validation from these men, using her beauty to keep their attention, but when they inevitably left, her moods would swing violently. Some nights she would be euphoric, filled with self-praise, telling Kian how lucky he was to have such a beautiful mother. Other nights, she would spiral into depressive rants, blaming Kian for everything wrong in her life, saying that he had ruined her chances at happiness by being born.

The worst moment of Kian’s life came when he was 14. One night, after a particularly rough day where Kian had skipped part of his workout and eaten more than his allotted food, he woke up to find his mother sitting on his chest, a pillow pressed hard against his face. He could barely breathe, his heart pounding in his ears as she hissed, “You’re too ugly to be my son.” He struggled beneath her weight, gasping for air, terror coursing through him. He thought he would die right then and there.

But just as suddenly as it started, Serena stopped. She threw the pillow aside and collapsed next to him, sobbing hysterically, her hands trembling. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry,” she wept, pulling at her own hair, groveling at Kian’s feet. “I didn’t mean it, I didn’t mean it.” The tears came in waves, her apologies a desperate plea for forgiveness. And Kian, still in shock and terrified of losing the only family he had, forgave her. It wasn’t the first time she’d hurt him, but it was the first time he truly realized how deep her instability went. And it certainly was not the last time she’d intentionally harm him or put him in harm’s way. She thought that people would look down on her for having an ugly son.

From that moment on, Kian’s relationship with his mother became even more twisted. Despite the trauma, he clung to her need for validation. He still wanted to be the son she could love, even though he knew deep down that her affection was always fleeting, tied to his ability to meet her impossible standards. The fear of being unwanted and unloved by her shaped Kian’s view of himself. No matter how much he achieved, how many people admired him, there was always a nagging voice in his head—his mother’s voice—telling him that he wasn’t good enough, that he was ugly.

After Glass Rose started to gain more popularity, he found comfort in the attention and adoration of fans, but more than that, he found a way to distract himself from the painful memories of his past. His mother's obsession with beauty left him deeply insecure, though he'd never show it to the world. Instead, he used his charm, looks, and charisma to win over anyone he could. He became a notorious heartbreaker, indulging in casual flings and hookups, unable to commit to anything more serious—because if someone ever got too close, they might see how broken he truly was.

He moved out when he was 18 but he’s still in contact with his mother. They call on occasion and he sometimes goes to visit her home.

Though Kian presents himself as confident and untouchable, every relationship is transactional, and he never allows himself to get too vulnerable. The fear of being rejected or found lacking always lingers. Deep down, he still seeks the validation he never received from his mother, but he’s too afraid to admit it, even to himself. Instead, he hides behind his rockstar persona—cocky, flirty, and reckless, constantly running from the ghosts of his past.

Despite the fame, fortune, and attention, Kian is haunted by memories of his mother's unstable love, forever chasing a sense of worth he’s not sure he’ll ever find. However, deep down inside, he still loved his mother and wants acceptance from her. He wants her to be proud of him.

Members of Glass Rose:

  1. Sean Turner (age 27), the guitarist. He’s stoic, brooding, and grumpy. Most serious of the group. But he’s also caring. The oldest.
  2. Kris Mehra (age 24), the bassist. She also does backup vocals. She has an upbeat and free-spirited personality. Third oldest.
  3. Kian Hendrix (age 26), the lead singer. He’s flirtatious and reckless. “Fuckboy.” Second oldest.
  4. Xavier Lopez (age 21), the drummer. He’s a loyal friend but he’s also serious. Youngest.

Relationship dynamics between the members:

  1. Kian + Sean: Kian and Sean became childhood friends while growing up in the same neighborhood. They’re extremely close but they argue a lot and tend not to agree on a lot of things. Sean often gets mad at Kian for the irresponsible life choices he makes. Sometimes they even get into physical fights. Xavier and Kris often have to stop them from butting heads.
  2. Kian + Kris: They often encourage each other’s reckless behavior, whether it’s on stage or during after-show parties. Their energy together is electric, both musically and socially. Kris is amused by Kian’s flirtatiousness and might even tease him for it, but they have a mutual understanding of fun and freedom. However, Kris knows when to reel it in, while Kian often doesn’t, which leads her to occasionally step in and try to keep him from going too far.
  3. Kian + Xavier: While they have very different approaches to life, there’s an unspoken understanding between them. Kian often jokes that Xavier is too serious, trying to get him to loosen up and have more fun, but Xavier is the one who quietly watches Kian’s back, keeping him out of serious trouble. Despite their differences, there’s a respect between them. Kian recognizes that Xavier’s grounded nature helps keep the band steady, while Xavier silently admires Kian’s ability to live so freely, even if he would never admit it. Their relationship is like that of brothers—occasionally butting heads, but always having each other’s back when it really counts.
  4. Sean + Kris: She often tries to get him to lighten up, cracking jokes or teasing him when he gets too serious. Sean acts annoyed, but deep down, he appreciates her positive energy and her ability to see the bright side of things. Kris respects Sean’s talent and admires his dedication, but sometimes gets frustrated by how closed off he can be. They balance each other out—Kris brings the fun, and Sean grounds her when needed.
  5. Xavier + Kris: Kris is like an older sister to Xavier. Since she was the one who insisted on letting Xavier join the band, she felt responsible for him. She often encouraged him and was always there for him when he needed her. They tell each other almost everything.
  6. Xavier + Sean: Despite how they act, they are actually extremely close. Growing up, Xavier frequently stayed the night at Sean’s house to escape his abusive father. Xavier was also pretty close with Sean’s older brother, Logan. So when Logan passed away (when Sean was 19), Sean was able to confide in Xavier. They might occasionally hang out in silence, working on music together or just being in the same space without needing to fill the air with words.

How the band was formed: Sean and Kian grew up in the same neighborhood and were childhood friends. They went to the same high school and when Sean was 17 and Kian was 16, they decided to start a band, with Sean on the guitar and Kian as the lead singer who also played the guitar. Kian was the one who came up with the band name, Glass Rose. One year later, Kris, who was 15 at the time, joined. She had a youtube channel in which she posted videos of herself playing the bass. Kian and Sean saw her videos and recruited her. In the same month, they started putting up posters for an audition which would be held in Sean’s house. Xavier, who was 12, showed up to play the drums for them. At first, Sean and Kian were amused and didn’t take Xavier seriously due to his age, but Kris wanted to give him a chance. They accepted Xavier into the band. It’s been ten years since Sean and Kian first started the band.
