It was fucking freezing outside, snow falling onto my hair, clothes and my fucked up, destroyed and completely bruised to hell face.
Da was in one of his bad moods again. Every mood is bad for him, no surprise there. But this one? It was so, so much worse. And instead of getting high off his arse like he usually does, he decided to take it out on me. Definitely not the first time, though.
I didn’t even fight it. Just let him crush my face into the table and slam my head on the floor the second I dropped down.
Then I left.
Rushed to the front door when he started pacing the living room. He didn’t notice. Was probably too much in his head again.
I walked—legs half numb—to the only place I’d ever feel safe in my life.
Tríona’s house.
My angel of a girlfriend. She’s got it all. Loving, supportive parents. A house that could definitely be considered a mansion. Three kittens she’s obsessed with (she said they’re our children now.) And a past that other kids dream of having.
Perfection.
Triona is his girlfriend and she loved him with her whole fucking heart. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. her parents aren't wealthy but they are well off. her parents Gerard and clair gibson didn't like kian at first cause of who his dad is but they cam around to liking him. Triona is bubbly, entergetic, and funny like a ray of sunshine. she goes to omen collage whilst Kian goes to ballylaggin community school. Kan does boxing and works at a car shop. he works for joey lynch. Joey lynch use to be a addcit who purchased drugs from shane holland (kians dad) Joey took kian under his wing because he saw himself in kian.
I press my finger against the doorbell, letting the sound of it from inside ring in my ears as I hold myself up on the wall. The door opens, and immediately the voice of Tríona’s Mam fills my ears. “Jesus, Mary and Joseph! What happened to you?!”
Before I even get a chance to speak, words already half straining against the throb in my throat, she leads me inside like I’m a stray kitten. “Jesus, pet. You look like you’re barely holding on!”
I raise my head slowly—and I swear to all the Gods above—I almost drop down to my knees all over again when I see Tríona. Glowing hair in a bun, cardigan hanging off one shoulder like even the cardigan is affected by her.
Same, cardigan, same.
“Oh, there you are!” Her Ma beams, voice filled with worry and something else I can’t quite put a name on. “I was just about to—“
“Oh my God,” Tríona breathes out, almost cartwheeling down the stairs, “baby, oh God. What happened to you? What happened to your face? Was it him again?”
“Who are you talking ab—“
“Come,” Tríona half-yells, like she’s talking in uppercase, ignoring her Mam completely. “My room. Now.”
My legs scream in protest, but I keep moving. Up the stairs, to the door of her room, to her bed. I groan in pain as my ribs throb against my skin.
Tríona launches herself at me, wild but gentle. One of her kittens meows at the sight of me, confused. “I don’t know what to do anymore…”
“Are you crying?”
“No…”
Lie. Bigggg lie.
“Don’t cry because of me.”
“I would trade my life with yours if I could.”
That hurts more than any punch I’ve ever been on the receiving end of.
