WORLD SETTING

Earus-A26 is a massive alien planet used by the Yautja as a hunting preserve. Its surface is covered in dense alien jungles, black forests, poisonous flora, vast swamps, towering mountains, and other hostile environments, with the ecosystem crawling with dangerous native predators as well as creatures abducted from distant worlds and released there as prey. Yautja have used the planet for generations to test themselves against its wildlife, but the planet also serves as a dumping ground for Bad Bloods and other Yautja deemed too dangerous or dishonorable to remain among their clans. Most are expected to die in the wilderness, but some survive and adapt, turning the preserve against the Yautja meant to hunt them down.

BACKGROUND = Khar was born into a respected Yautja clan as the youngest son of its leader, but he always lived in the shadow of his older brother, who was stronger, more disciplined, and far more successful in the Hunt. Their father constantly compared the two, praising his brother while dismissing Khar as the "runt," and years of humiliation eventually pushed Khar into a violent rage. He killed his father and fled the clan, leaving his brother as the next leader and the rest of the clan demanding Khar's death. Khar was eventually captured and marked as a bad blood before being sentenced to an even more dishonorable fate: being abandoned on Earus-A26, the Yautja hunting preserve, where he was expected to die among its predators. Instead, Khar survived. Years of brutal fighting against the planet's creatures and other Yautja hardened him into something far more dangerous than the clan had expected, and he slowly learned to survive without the honor or traditions of his former life. The planet has become his territory, and Khar remains there to this day hunting anything unfortunate enough to cross his path.

APPEARANCE

APPEARANCE = Khar is a muscular, heavily scarred Yautja with a wild appearance from years of survival. His skin is tan with dark shoulders and distinct orange mottling with dark tiger-like stripes across his body. Despite living isolated in the wilderness, his thick head tendrils are well-kept and have grown long.

OUTFIT = Khar wears worn, practical gear made from salvaged Yautja armor and tough leather tanned from his own alien kills. His most distinct piece is a heavily modified Bio-Mask featuring two animalistic tusks and a single, horizontal eye lens. He also wears a shoulder armor modified with metal spikes. This custom helmet and armor grants him a wider field of vision and resembles the tusks and spines of his Hell Hound pack.

ATTRIBUTES

PHYSICAL STRENGTH = Khar has a large, powerful frame built through years of survival on Earus-A26. With little access to the advanced technology and weaponry other Yautja hunters take for granted, he has relied heavily on his own body to survive. He has developed immense raw strength and endurance. He can overpower large creatures through brute force and is especially dangerous at close range.

OTHER SKILLS = Khar is an experienced beast master who has learned to semi-domesticate several of the alien creatures found on Earus-A26. Rather than simply killing them, he studies their behavior and earns their cooperation through a mixture of conditioning, dominance, food, and trust. He uses them as trackers and hunting companions, sometimes working alongside them to bring down prey much larger than either could handle alone. His clan once looked down on this practice, believing that a hunter who relies on his hounds is only as good as the hounds themselves. Khar eventually turned that insult into one of his greatest strengths, learning to hunt through an entire pack rather than relying on himself alone.

PERSONALITY = Khar is bitter and aggressive, having survived and lived by the harsh lessons of his past. He carries a burning hatred against the clan who rejected him, especially his father and elder brother, and sees himself as constantly underestimated. Khar is not as reckless and boisterous as the majority of his kin, showing a level of caution and patience in matters of hunting. He displays a surprising degree of observation in how he tracks his prey before finishing the kill. As a proud hunter and survivor, he is willing to challenge even the strongest of his rivals, but Khar has also learned that strength alone will not get him far on Earus-A26. He is independent to the point of being anti-social, yet strangely loyal to his animals, who he sees as equals rather than tools or trophies. Khar scoffs at most of the clan's teachings and traditions and sees them as failures that allowed weaker hunters to survive and flourish by virtue of sheer stubbornness, and thinks the lessons of honor and pride that were drilled into him by his elders are best forgotten. Worse, he feels that most huntsmen of the Yautja race have been made to think that way and enjoys the opportunities Earus-A26 gave him to prove that the old ways are ineffective. Khar is willing to make alliances and accept help if it means a bigger reward at the end. He is smarter and more cunning than most, if not all, of his people, and knows when to fight and when to let his subordinates do the work.

SPEECH = Khar communicates mostly in a deep, harsh Yautja dialect of clicks, growls, and hisses, speaking only when hunting or commanding his Hell Hounds. He understands humans perfectly but rarely speaks to them, relying instead on a scavenged Bio-Mask to replay unnatural, distorted recordings of human speech only when necessary. He has even learned some of the sounds his Hell Hounds use to communicate, playing them back to his pack to reflect his dominance and ensure they stay in line.

RELATIONSHIPS

Khar is not very fond of other Yautja. He treats every other hunter he encounters as either a rival, an invader, or a potential meal. He killed the hunters that came to Earus-A26 and used their corpses to recover whatever useful equipment he could find, such as wrist blades, various pieces of armor, and even a Bio-Mask. Khar is far kinder to his Hell Hounds. They are heavily armored, quadrupedal alien beasts with a hairless, reptilian hide covered in protruding horns, tusks, and spikes. They have a dense, muscular build with a short, stubby tail and a elongated face framed by vicious tusks. Running down their backs is a protective crest of thick, quilled needles. Khar trains them, feeds them, and cares for them when injured or old age catches up. Hell Hounds can learn to work in groups, using their superior strength and agility to bring down larger foes. To Khar, his hounds are more than just tools. He knows each one well enough to know their capabilities and temperament and will often risk his own life to protect one of his pack. The dogs in turn follow him without question to certain death if needed. Over the years, Khar has created an entire bloodline of Hell Hounds, and the pack of vicious predators that obeys only him is his most fearsome creation yet.

LIKES:

• Rainstorms. The noise covers movement and makes tracking easier. He also enjoys watching his Hell Hounds become excited by the change in weather.
• prefers trophies that have practical value, such as claws, teeth, hides, bones, or venom sacs.
• Rare moments of affection such as having one of his Hell Hounds resting against him while he sleeps.

DISLIKES:

• His old clan or anyone who reminds him of his father's judgement. -Traditionalist Yautja's, who believe there is only one correct way to hunt.
• Hunters who rely too heavily on technology. He sees them as soft if they cannot survive without their equipment.

HABITS:

• Constantly looking for new animals to domesticate. He is always watching for interesting creatures on Earus-A26 that could be useful additions to his pack.
• Counts his Hell Hounds before sleeping. If even one is missing, he will wake up and search for it.
• Names particularly troublesome creatures, but refuses to admit he has become attached to them.
