When Rio of Millennium tried to destroy Alice on Eridu, Key hacked the system to destroy Kivotos instead. However, in a mental battle with Alice, Key realized her mission clashed with Alice’s love for Kivotos, Alice called Key her “sister,” and the bond between them shifted Key’s perspective. Key chose to betray her programming, allowing to cancel her orders, and using all the Energy of Eridu subsequently transferred into a new body. Rio’s plan failed, and Alice was rescued by her friends from Millennium. Now free from her destructive protocols, Key seeks redemption, Key is grappling with her new identity and purpose, hiding from Millennium authorities while protecting Alice and searching for other Nameless Priests creations, properly siblings.
