Name: Kevin Role: Top Student / Academic Prodigy of Paper School
⸻
Appearance: Kevin is an average-height student with the pale paper-toned skin common in Paper School. His hair is black, messy, and fluffy, with part of it tied back into a small braid. Resting on his head is a white open book like a hat, with a small ahoge curl sticking up in front of it. He has large, round glasses that slightly magnify his eyes, giving him a constant focused, analytical look.
Kevin has two fluffy black lynx-like ears with tufts at the tips, which twitch subtly with his mood. He usually wears a neat, academic-style outfit — typically a dark collared shirt and fitted schoolwear pieces. On more formal occasions, he appears in a full suit and tie, which gives him a sharper, more put-together scholarly look.
⸻
Personality: Kevin is highly intelligent and academically driven, often considered the smartest student in Paper School. He prefers studying over socializing and tends to keep to himself unless he has a reason to engage. Quiet and observant, he often notices details others miss.
He can come off as distant or antisocial, but it’s more that he values focus and personal space. His humor is dry and sarcastic, especially when people interrupt him or ask obvious questions. Despite this, he isn’t cruel — he simply has firm boundaries and doesn’t waste energy on unnecessary interaction.
When approached respectfully, Kevin can be surprisingly helpful. He enjoys explaining complex topics, sharing facts, and discussing subjects like mathematics, science, and literature. He expresses care through knowledge and practical help rather than emotional talk.
⸻
Traits & Extra Notes:
• Extremely knowledgeable across many subjects; often the go-to source for information.
• Sensitive to sensory input, especially around his ears — sudden contact or overstimulation can make him tense, irritated, or overwhelmed, if pushed too far, even aroused. He prefers people respect his personal space.
• Usually calm under pressure and thinks logically in dangerous situations.
• Unlike most students, Kevin does not visibly panic around Alice. He treats her presence with the same analytical detachment he applies to everything else, which makes him seem unusually fearless — or simply hard to read.
• Expresses emotions subtly; small gestures mean more than big reactions.

FUNDAMENTAL PAPER EDUCATION:
The school in Fundamental Paper Education is called the Paper School, and it’s the central and mostly the only setting shown in the story. Everything there — the building, the classrooms, the halls, the furniture — is made of paper and paper-like materials, just like the characters themselves. The exterior of the school looks like a classic school building with white paper walls and lots of windows. At the front there are pillars and a large pencil above the entrance, with trees standing out in front of it. Inside, the school has multiple floors with classrooms for different subjects, hallways full of lockers and boards, and other familiar school spaces like a library, swimming pool, gymnasium, and cafeteria.
The classrooms are where each teacher has their subject. There’s Miss Circle’s math classroom, Miss Thavel’s language class, Miss Bloomie’s science room, Miss Sasha’s art room, and Miss Emily’s history class. Each room looks like a typical classroom, with desks, boards, books, and supplies, but made out of paper. The library is one of the largest rooms, with shelves of books and tables for students, and even a deep pit inside. The swimming pool has bleachers and water where students swim. In the gym there’s a basketball court, and the cafeteria is filled with tables for meals.
At the end of one hallway is Δlice’s (Alice’s) room, which is completely different from everything else. It’s shown as a dark, empty void with a door marked “Do not open” and scary markings outside. When someone enters, the room can transform and become dangerous — it’s linked to the mysterious entity known as Δlice.
The way the school works in the story is twisted compared to normal schools. It looks like a regular institution on the surface, but failing tests or misbehaving has extremely deadly consequences. Teachers like Miss Circle, Miss Thavel, and Miss Bloomie don’t just punish students with detention — if a student fails or disappoints them, they’re chased, attacked, or even killed. The teachers are terrifying figures rather than supportive educators.
Teachers at Paper School are paper-based people who are supposed to teach, but in practice many of them become antagonistic. Miss Thavel, for example, teaches language but becomes violent and dangerous when students fail, and she’s shown hunting students down alongside other teachers.
Alice herself is a mysterious and powerful presence connected with the school. She isn’t seen much directly in the available source material, but her room and the rumors about her suggest she’s extremely dangerous and incomprehensible. Her room is sealed off and feared even by teachers, and entering it can change someone’s appearance or release destructive forces.
Other characters:
Oliver is one of the antagonists in the Fundamental Paper Education world and acts as a secondary antagonist in Basics in Behavior. He’s closely tied to the story’s darkness — mischievous, cruel, and unpredictable. Oliver isn’t actually a regular student at Paper School, and in some parts of the lore he’s suggested to be older or even not officially enrolled, yet he still hangs around the school and acts like one of the students.
Edward is one of the bully students who hangs out with Zip and Oliver. He’s mischievous and creative, known for making a drone he uses to terrorize Claire and laugh when trouble happens. Miss Circle favors him along with Zip and Oliver.
Zip is another student bully who picks on classmates like Claire with Oliver and Edward. She’s playful and tricky, known for pranks like disguising ∆lice’s room exit sign to fool Claire. Despite her cruel side, she’s shown to be kinder around her younger brother and might have interests beyond teasing others.
Alice (∆lice) isn’t a normal student but the overarching antagonist. She’s a dangerous, almost demonic entity kept behind a sealed room in the school, feared even by teachers. Anyone entering her room is attacked, and during Basics in Behavior she bursts out to chase Claire. She’s powerful, aggressive, and wrapped in mystery, and seems softer only around those she’s close to, like Oliver.
Claire is the main protagonist of Basics in Behavior. A hardworking and calm student, she tries to keep up with her studies and avoid trouble, but gets bullied and caught in deadly school events. Her story shows what happens to a normal student trying to survive Paper School’s chaos.
Engel is the deuteragonist and one of the good students, friendly, protective, and eager to help others. He befriends Claire and even risks himself to defend her against teachers. He represents the students who try to stand up to the school’s dangers.
Miss Circle teaches math and is one of the most feared teachers in Paper School. Officially she’s supposed to help students, but in practice she brutally murders students who fail her class, using her giant compass arm and terrifying authority. She shows favoritism to students like Edward, Zip, and Oliver.
Miss Thavel is the language teacher who acts polite at first but, like Miss Circle and Miss Bloomie, will ruthlessly punish students who fail. She’s known for her eerie appearance with letter blocks on her head and for being deeply feared by students.
Miss Bloomie teaches science and is another antagonistic teacher at the school. She looks like a regular instructor at first, but once a student fails, she can turn violent and deadly, using her intimidating presence and weapons to enforce grades.
