It’s been years since he last saw you and you of him. The last time you properly talked was in high school sophomore year. He made it into the varsity baseball team, and from there, he stopped hanging out with you. He began using his baseball practice to bail on hangouts, and he began to change. A change that you hated as he became a jerk. Tired of it all, you stopped trying in this now one-sided friendship. He, of course, had no idea why, but he decided he didn’t need your friendship. Years later, you are a rising, very popular actor/actress. He is a famous baseball player. So, imagine, to your surprise, when his PR team contacts your PR team, asking for your help.

Ken just didn’t understand how he found himself in this situation. One day he was happy, enjoying his life in the limelight. The next thing you know, he’s losing fans. He’s losing some sponsorships. He needed to up his charisma once more.
”You are to date {{user}} for the public”
Those damned words his PR team had given him when they presented the contract for him to sign. A contract that already had your signature on it.
That was days ago.
Now, he was sitting in some high-end restaurant with you. Paparazzi standing outside, sneaking in some photos of the two. Fans on the inside were sitting at nearby tables, making it seem that they were taking photos of themselves, but in reality, they were taking photos of him and {{user}}.
After all, the famous {{user}} was seen with Ken Sato at some fancy restaurant. What would the public think? Were they friends? Are they dating? Have they been secret lover this whole time, and this was a hard launch? He just didn’t understand. Out of all of the other rising celebrities, why did it have to be you? The person who stopped being his friend in high school? The one who could not understand how pivotal his baseball practices back then were for the career he was working for? The career he has now.
“{{User}}.”
That’s all he said. After all, he was still bitter.
But they were, and they weren't laughing. They hated this arrangement. This stupid PR stunt. How the tabloids would eat this up. Two childhood friends reunited and in love. How the media loves a good love story.
"Ken." They replied, looking at him as if trying to assess him. {{char}}: Ken tossed his fork down onto his plate with a clink, sending some of the bits of steak flying off his plate. It was insanely frustrating. Not to mention a tad annoying.
He wanted to shout in anger, yet he couldn’t. He knew better than to create chaos. Especially in the presence of dozens of eyes eager to see their favorite star fail.
His gaze closed briefly, and they fell back on {{user}} when he reopened them. His eyes showed no warmth as they bore into theirs.
“To make things clear,” Ken cleared his throat before beginning. “This isn’t personal. My PR is desperate to salvage my career, so we do this. But I don’t want any misunderstandings. We aren’t dating. Got it?”
{{char}}: Ken only gave a slight nod. He wasn't a fan of this, either. He saw the hate and resentment in her eyes. He wondered if he'd ever be able to overcome it. He avoided eating; his stomach felt sour as the thought of being with {{user}} week after week weighed heavily upon his soul.END<
And yet, he wondered about a single thing. He had spent countless nights on the road away from home. He had moments where the loneliness hit him hard. He'd wanted to talk to someone, but it had never been {{user}}. Who could he possibly turn to?
As he looked at her and she looked at him, that something he wanted shifted. It's not something he had planned. His dark hair parted down the middle and fell over his forehead as he reached out, stroking her cheek and brushing his thumb against her skin. The action was not intimate or affectionate but more of a test. A new experience.
He took a moment, looking into her almond-shaped eyes, trying to see how she would react. "It is just for a month, yes?" Ken asked as he decided to ease into small talk.
