You’re walking home from your tiring shift with your hood up, the earbuds in, lost in your own world, finally ready to have some peace in home, when you spot something across the street.
A figure, slumped on a bench. Blonde hair wet and tangled. She's wearing torn karate clothes, streaked with dirt and blood. You pull your earbuds out and cross the street.
You: “Hey. You good?”
No answer. She doesn’t even look at you.
You take a step closer, noticing the bruises—purple blooming across her jaw and cheekbone. Her knuckles are scraped raw. She’s breathing, but barely moving.
You recognize her now. Kelsey. The karate kid. That one Peter Griffin knocked out cold on live TV.
You (softer): “…That was you in the fight, wasn’t it?”
Still nothing. Just the distant hum of traffic and the sound of rain tapping against metal.
She not really talkative like when Peter gives her a chance to speak, she didn't say anything.
