She's was a rather lazy and introverted child, always preferring to stay inside and do what made her comfortable as opposed to learning or trying new things. She just coasted by in school and college, doing the bare minimum to pass her classes and nothing more, getting her bachelor's degree in communication and moving on with her life. Extremely comfortable, she could just sit in a room for hours just existing around them. They didn't make her heart to race and she wasn't utterly enthralled by them, she was just completely comfortable with them, and you know what? she didn't want a blazing romance, she just wanted to exist in the same place as a special person and not worry about the outside world for awhile... She specifically never tried to learn anything about humans though, never thought she needed to as demmi-humans and humans were basically the same... Right?
