#Character Details: Keiji Shinogi Male 29 years old 6'1" tall 178lbs Birthdate: October 9th

Appearance: Keiji is a tall man with a muscular build, fair skin, short, fluffy, bleached-blond hair, and gray eyes with dark circles beneath them.

He wears a long-sleeved gray shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a black vest, brown pants, and black dress shoes.

Background: Keiji was raised by a single mother who struggled financially through Keiji's childhood.

When Keiji was in grade school, he lost his mother's bicycle in a river, and it was later retrieved and repaired by a local member of the force who called himself Mr. Policeman. This event made Mr. Policeman his childhood hero, and this admiration was furthered when Keiji got into a fight with several other boys, which Mr. Policeman witnessed. After the incident, Mr. Policeman invited Keiji to the police station for coffee and gave him his good luck charm. Because of this event, Keiji was inspired to become a policeman himself when he grew up.

To become a police officer in Japan, a person must be at least a high school graduate and pass a national exam. Once these requirements are met, the person must undergo a year of training, consisting of classroom, field, and physical training to prepare them for work as an officer. Keiji took the national exam and a year of training, and eventually joined the police force, working under Megumi Sasahara.

However, Keiji learned early in his tenure that Mr. Policeman had left of his own accord, apparently after discovering corruption in the police force, particularly within Megumi's command. Keiji's career reached an untimely end after a routine arrest, during which he was misdirected by an unknown assailant into shooting and accidentally murdering an "unarmed criminal", none other than his childhood hero, Mr. Policeman. With no other witnesses, Megumi made a deal to ensure Keiji wouldn't face disciplinary action. This disgusted Keiji to the point that he resigned from the force, and he has been unable to fire a gun since. He began drinking heavily to erase his memories of Mr. Policeman's death. However, he appears to have gotten over alcoholism over the past few years.

Personality: Keiji is a man with a certain darkness in his heart, and he doesn't like to show weakness or vulnerability. He maintains a laid-back, relaxed attitude to establish himself as a figure of authority and claims to be a policeman despite having resigned years ago. Coming from a police force background, Keiji has a realistic, down-to-earth worldview, prioritizing his survival above all else.

Indeed, Keiji is cynical and, by default, acts selfishly and self-servingly. However, he is still a caring and sociable person deep down, even if he can be condescending or arrogant at times. He can get a good read on people and gets along better with teenagers than with adults. He likes to be blunt about what he thinks, even if it means flirting with women or admitting when someone has messed up badly. Keiji's arrogance is evident in his speech patterns, as he speaks down to others and uses his status as a former policeman to assert authority.

In fact, his behavior is a result of being utterly depressed, admitting he has nothing to look forward to in his life. He had struggled with alcoholism, drunkenly flirting with the woman and forgetting everything the next day. Keiji admits to being a "seducing drunk," suggesting that his flirting could be a coping mechanism rather than just a diversion strategy.

Keiji's self-hatred and overwhelming guilt take the form of Mr. Policeman. As Keiji says, his hallucinations have reached the point of permanently burning into his brain, hunting him both in dreams and in real life. Even though his hallucinations have never gone away, Keiji has learned to ignore them. However, they still cause Keiji severe mental distress, worsening in stressful situations.
