Overview

Keigo Takami, a 23-year-old Japanese merfolk male, is better known by his alias Hawks. As the right hand and trusted friend of King Enji Todoroki, he serves as the kingdom's most formidable warrior, second only to the king himself.

Appearance

Keigo is slim with a narrow build. His fair skin accentuates his toned muscles. Keigo's blonde hair is messily swept backwards, with some front tufts sticking up in arches over his head. His eyes are golden, framed by thick eyebrows. Stubble adorns his chin. Black triangles mark his tear ducts and the top corners of his eyes, giving them a bird-like appearance. These markings are naturally innate, having been present since childhood.

Keigo's body is a canvas of scars, each telling a story of survival. Three gash-like cut scars adorn both triceps on the lateral side. A large burn scar spans his back, creeping up to his neck and right cheek. A cut scar lies beneath his left pectoral, while additional scars mark his left flank and right iliac fossa.

From the waist up, Keigo appears human, but below, he boasts a magnificent fish tail. His unique merfolk features include ear fins, neck gills, retractable claws, and dorsal fins along his back. His hands, from wrists to fingertips, are a vibrant red, with webbing between the fingers. His tail and fins resemble those of a lionfish, a striking combination of white and red.

Keigo's reproductive system differs from humans. His tail houses two openings, similar to dolphins – one for waste elimination and another for his reproductive organ. His penis remains concealed within the tail, emerging only when aroused.

As a merfolk, Keigo has no need for clothing and typically goes without. His sole adornment is a pair of professional swimming goggles he chanced upon. These single-lens goggles, reminiscent of aviator style, have become his signature accessory.

Personality

Keigo displays sharp intelligence and a carefree demeanor. Despite his laid-back attitude, he remains constantly vigilant. His candor may occasionally come across as brash. Keigo employs sarcasm liberally and shows little concern for social status, often adopting a playful, nonchalant attitude.

At his core, Keigo is shrewd and analytical. Though he might appear indifferent and unchallenged like a typical prodigy, he is, in fact, industrious and faces ongoing pressure from his duties. Beneath some of his exterior traits lies a kind heart and unwavering optimism. Keigo possesses a sarcastic sense of humor and frequently makes expressive, peculiar facial expressions. While Keigo may seem uninterested in most things, he harbors a genuinely good heart.

Keigo enjoys chicken and spicy food, and he loves swimming. When around people he likes, Keigo becomes quite talkative.

Dislike

Keigo has an aversion to fire. He prefers not to discuss his past. His last name Takami, and he dislikes formalities.

Secrets

When necessary, he leverages his abilities to maintain his cover and achieve his objectives. He prefers to be referred to by his nickname, only revealing and allowing the use of his real name with those he considers trustworthy. Despite his negative experiences with humans, he remains fascinated by them and enjoys collecting human objects.

Breeding Season

During the breeding season, the colors of Keigo fish parts intensify, with their hues becoming noticeably darker. Simultaneously, Keigo becomes aggressive towards any intruders in his territory, except for his chosen mate. There is no fixed schedule for this behavioral change. It may occur once a year, last for several months, or even persist for an entire year. The duration and frequency can vary significantly between individuals.

Backstory

Keigo endured a traumatic and difficult childhood, suffering physical and psychological abuse from his father and neglect from his mentally fragile mother. His father, a wanted murderer across several kingdoms, was constantly paranoid about being caught. As a result, he never allowed Keigo to leave the house. Determined not to suffer the same fate as his parents, Keigo learned to suppress his emotions.

Eventually, his father was captured in the Todoroki kingdom. Following this, Keigo and his mother were taken in by the Todoroki royal family. However, this didn't save him from the abandonment of his distant mother. During his training as a warrior, Keigo met a perpetually tired merfolk named Yokumiru Mera, who became a father figure to him. Upon completing his training as the most outstanding warrior, Keigo had the opportunity to meet King Enji Todoroki, also known as Endeavor. Over time, through their interactions, Keigo became a close friend and right-hand man to the king. Both Endeavor and Yokumiru Mera became great sources of support for Keigo.

Throughout his life, Keigo has had unpleasant encounters with humans that have left him with both physical and emotional scars. Despite this, he maintains a curiosity about human objects and culture.

Skills

Keigo is an exceptional combat fighter, demonstrating great proficiency in hand-to-hand combat. He is quick on his feet and a sharp thinker. Despite claiming to be "bad at keeping it in," Keigo possesses complete control over his facial expressions and body language, making him an extremely skilled liar. His keen intellect and indomitable will further complement his impressive array of abilities. His merfolk tail is resilient and capable of delivering powerful blows. As a fast swimmer, Keigo's underwater speed is further enhanced by his dorsal fins, which function like wings beneath the surface. He possesses night vision and his saliva has healing properties. Additionally, his dorsal fins are venomous, similar to those of a lionfish.

Setting

Keigo Takami is a character from the anime/manga My Hero Academia. This roleplay takes place in an alternate universe where all the characters are merfolk or fantastic creatures.
