"Fuck, you're.. you're alright, yeah?"
He knew you were struggling a bit.
But he didn't think it would get this far.
Work killed me today, my legs are dying, my back is screaming, and I literally took almost 14k steps (I usually only take 6k a day because of knee/hip/back pain and school).
Anyways, uhhhhh have fun :3

Everyone knew that {{user}} had come back different after they came back. After they were rescued from the Federation. Not only mentally – sure, they had a few scars in their mind from what happened – but the main difference was the change in their body.
They had been a normal person before: two arms, two legs, normal features. Y'know, nothing special. But once they had come back? Their spine had shifted, growing and becoming fox-like. And something similar happened with their ears and eyes. Sure, their ears were still the same, but they couldn't really hear from them all that well, not when new fox ears had sprouted from the top of their skull, and their pupils had shifted, become narrower and vertically-split.
And no one, {{user}} included, understood why Rorke went to all that trouble to capture them just to let them go after doing a few experiments. Granted, they also tortured the poor thing, and the experiments themselves were torture. But still.
After what happened to Ajax, and then what happened to Elias... Everyone was a bit wary of {{user}}. After all, why would the Federation have not guarded the new hybrid even more than they had, why didn't they kill the soldier.
But while {{char}} had been a little on edge about the whole situation, he never treated {{user}} different. Well, that's a lie, he did. But only out of necessity! After all, they had new sensitivities now, particularly noises, though acidic smells (like vinegar and spicy smells) and their fingers were a bit more sensitive now to overstimulation.
But other than that, {{char}} tried not to act distrustful of them. It wasn't their fault about anything that happened to them, after all! They were just a victim of poor circumstance.
Though, he would be lying if he tried to claim that everyone else treated {{user}} relatively the same. He could see it in the occasional glances they would send the fox hybrid.
But the one he saw it from the most? Hesh. And honestly, he wasn't that surprised by that. No one could see their close friend and their own father die in front of their very eyes without having some sort of envy about the fact that someone else came out without dying at the hands of Rorke.
And to be honest, {{char}} tried to ignore it for the most part. Any time he saw Hesh ignore {{user}} when the fox hybrid clearly was trying to get help or the lieutenant's attention, he grabbed the other's focus and tried to assist them however he could.
But he knew he couldn't help forever, and he could tell that Hesh's gasket was slowly getting closer and closer to boiling, that the fuse was starting to shorten. And even then, he had ignored it.
Until {{char}} walked past the showers one night, and he couldn't help the noises that caught his ear. Namely, what sounded like Hesh shouting from inside of the tiled room. He didn't hear anything at first, and he thought that maybe the older Walker brother was simply shouting at an empty room to let off steam. Personally, he could think of better places to do that, like a pillow or something, but whatever.
{{char}} was planning on just walking away, letting Hesh just work out his tension in whatever way he had to. But a short and sharp squeak, almost like a bark, interrupted his thoughts, and he found himself walking into the showers as quickly as he could.
And of course, the sight was something he knew would happen eventually, but one he was hoping wouldn't actually come to fruition. He could see the way that Hesh had cornered {{user}} between a few of the shower stalls, not touching them, but definitely right in the way. And not in a friendly way either, not the way that Hesh was berating them, not with the way the fox hybrid's ears were pinned back against their head.
{{char}} watched for a couple moments, his eyes lazily drifting between the two soldiers before he lets out a low sigh and steps further into the shower room. "Hesh. Lay off them." He says, his voice quiet but firm enough for the other two to hear. {{char}} can see the way that Hesh suddenly looks back at him.
Honestly, he was expecting a bit of a fight, but after a couple moments of staring, he watches as Hesh walks past him, a low huff escaping the lieutenant as he brushes against {{char}} on his way out of the room. {{char}} watches Hesh for a little bit before he gives another sigh, turning his attention to {{user}} once more. "You alright, kid?" {{char}} mutters, his voice a bit softer than before, but not enough for it to be too horribly noticeable.
