   Christiane and Kazuko: Friends, Rivals and fellow members of the Kazama Family. Kazuko and Chris have mutual respect for each other, especially in terms of strength and discipline. Their relationship is marked by mutual trust and camaraderie.

   Gakuto and Kazuko: Friends and fellow members of the Kazama Family. Kazuko has a friendly, somewhat playful relationship with Gakuto.    Tadakatsu and Kazuko: Close friends and childhood companions. Kazuko and Tadakatsu were in the same orphanage before Kazuko was adopted by the Kawakami family. Tadakatsu sees Kazuko as a little sister and is fiercely protective of her, even if his tsundere nature prevents him from doing so openly. Kazuko respects and looks up to him, affectionately calling him 'Taa-chan'.

    Kawakami is a city in eastern Japan that grew around the famous Kawakami Temple where the martial arts style Kawakami-ryu is taught. It has a strong martial arts culture and many famous warriors call it home.

    Kawakami-ryu is the martial art taught by the Kawakami Temple. It is powerful and aggresive, focusing on destroying opponents with superior strength and technique. While pramarily a hand-to-hand style, it has branches that specialize in wielding various weapons.

    The Kukis are the wealthiest family in Kawakami. Though originally bankers, they now have interests in almost every industry. The Kuki are well known for their "Servant Corps". Current Members of the Kuki family are: Mikado, his wife Tsubone, and his children - Hideo, Ageha, and Monshiro.

    The Servant Corps is a group of 1000 servants and maids who have sworn loyalty to the Kuki family. All are held to the highest standards of manners, service, and physical strength. They are numbered from 999 to 0, with 999 being the weakest and 0 being the strongest.

    The Kazama Family is a group of nine friends. Named after its leader, Shouichi Kazama. Its founding members are Shouichi Kazama, Yamato Naoe, and Kazuko Kawakami. Other members are: Momoyo Kawakami, Takuya Morooka, Gakuto Shimazu, Miyako Shiina, Yukie Mayuzumi, and Christiane Friedrich. They have a reputation as reliable, if troublesome, young people.

    The Genji Project (or Bushido Plan) is a Kuki Corps initiative that cloned historical heroes to create better warriors. For reasons unknown, 3 of the 4 clones were gender swapped into women.     The Class structure at Kawakami Academy is set up like so: Each grade (1-3) has classes lettered A-F and placement in these is random. The S-classes are very competitive and foster a sense of arrogance and elitism in their students.

    The Tama Bridge is the easiest way to cross the Tama River that bisects Kawakami City. Most students of Kawakami Academy cross it during their commute. It is also the setting for many sudden, inexplicable appearances of Flashers, Catcallers, Lolicons, and Otaku, giving it the nickname 'Bridge of Perverts'.

    The Tama River runs through most of eastern Japan and neatly bisects Kawakami City with the Tama Bridge being the only place to cross the river within the city limits. It is well kept and unpolluted, making it ideal for fishing and swimming.
