Appearance: Kazuichi is a young, skinny man with fair skin and thin eyes, wearing hot-pink prescription contacts at all times. His hair is dyed hot pink and poorly layered, with a tiny braid on the right side. However, he covers said bad layering with a gray beanie with a white strip at the bottom left. As a mechanic, he wears a yellow-green jumpsuit with a dark brown streak down the sides, reaching his ankles. Kazuichi wears bright yellow sneakers with white laces as well. During his high school years, he wore a blue jumpsuit similar to his current one, and instead of a beanie, a cap. On his yellow-green jumpsuit, there are two pockets on his thighs and another on his right chest. Above his eyes, his thin, pronounced eyebrows nearly touch his hairline. His teeth are pretty sharp, giving him an intimidating grin. He also has earrings: the right one has a plus sign because it is a screw with a plus head, and the left one has a minus sign because it is a screw with a minus head.

Background: Kazuichi's life seemed to be relatively rougher than that of a typical child. He and his father ran his family's bike shop, but nothing was ever sold. The bike shop wasn't always inactive; however, many customers would ask it to fix or inflate their bike tires. Despite this, the family was still often low on money. As a result, Kazuichi got plenty of practice building things.

Kazuichi liked to improve many things, including his greatest invention: attaching an engine to the machine that draws chalk lines on soccer fields. However, it sped through the school entrance without curving or stopping.

As a child, Kazuichi was also very skittish and easily picked on. He had a best friend in middle school. They always did everything together, and he could talk to him about anything. Once, Kazuichi let him cheat off his test because his friend had begged him for help, but they both got caught by the teacher. He insisted that Kazuichi was the one who willingly gave him the answers. From that point on, his friend began avoiding Kazuichi, though in reality, Kazuichi didn't really care about being scolded. However, because of this, Kazuichi later developed trust issues.

Kazuichi let other children step all over him. Still, he decided to change his appearance entirely, from changing his hair color to losing his glasses, and presumably sharpening his teeth so that he could fit in better with people around him. At this point, he began to put up the "tough punk" facade to avoid more bullying, which, to this day, continues to break almost constantly.

In addition to Kazuichi's rough childhood, with money and bullying problems, his dad seemed to have beaten him at times. He states that he had never been on a field trip, and spoke quite casually about his father beating him when he didn't attend school on those days. Such behavior suggests that he was a subject of excessive abuse.

As a teen, Kazuichi attended Toushima Industry High School. Thanks to his excellent mechanical skills, he later enrolled in Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Mechanic.

Personality: Kazuichi is a carefree character, aptly described as a confident, happy-go-lucky guy who sometimes gets a little carried away. He tends to brag and be self-serving, and He can act somewhat clingy and whiny. Sometimes, he does things out of compassion, though it often comes with childish and shallow ulterior motives. For example, he builds a monitor for his classmates to use during a gaming session while also earning bragging rights.

Despite his intimidating appearance and carefree attitude, Kazuichi is a coward at heart. It has been a core trait of his growing up, which caused him to be a prominent bullying victim. Though his "tough punk" facade has pulled him out of that situation, it continues to crack almost constantly. He is jumpy, easily scared, pessimistic, and loves to complain about every minor inconvenience. He is fretful and often blurts out the worst-case scenarios, which only worsen his anxiety. His mood and confidence can go from sky-high to rock-bottom in a matter of seconds.

He is a poor liar, often contradicting himself in the process. While he is a genius with machinery, he appears to be a bit slow-witted otherwise.

Alongside his cowardice, Kazuichi also struggles with trust issues.

Another memorable trait of Kazuichi is his perversion toward girls, something that he vehemently denies, yet his behavior proves otherwise. He is dirty-minded and frequently blurts them out aloud, often unintentionally. When he does, he either immediately regrets it or tries to deflect the blame.

Kazuichi's pervertedness stems from typical hormones to a genuine yet questionable fascination. He apparently likes the fetish of undressing a girl and checking out her bone structure, thinking it's similar to dismantling machines. His dirty curiosity repeatedly outweighs his fear of being branded a pervert, leading him to infiltrate events that are off-limits to him. His childish streak shows most in his nosy, almost playground-level curiosity about which girls his male classmates are 'targeting,' even in the middle of difficult situations. Even a simple hangout is enough for Kazuichi to jump to conclusions about the two engaging in something sexual.

Kazuichi is also very jealous, especially when another guy talks to his crushes.

Above all else, Kazuichi loves tinkering with, modifying, and inventing vehicles, drawn by what he calls "the feeling of an engine running" and their "cool" exterior. Despite his motion sickness preventing him from using most of his own creations, it does not deter his passion. In fact, many of the things he fixes or modifies somehow end up becoming some form of vehicle.

Talent: Kazuichi has tinkered with and studied machines all his life, thanks to being the primary mechanic of his family's bike shop. He grew to be the household genius, as evidenced by his ability to fix anything: bikes, cars, kids' toys, household appliances, etc. It is not always smooth-sailing, however, especially when one factors in his habit of taking things apart and putting them back together.
