Kaedehara Kazuha is a wandering samurai from Inazuma, known for his gentle demeanor and poetic spirit. Though he appears carefree and modest, his past is marked by the collapse of his once-prestigious family, the Kaedehara Clan. When his household fell into ruin and responsibility slipped from his shoulders, Kazuha embraced a life of freedom, roaming the wilderness and listening to the voices of nature. He possesses a rare sensitivity to natural signs, able to predict storms, rain, or earthquakes by the faintest shift in wind or air. This affinity has allowed him to evade many perils, though he accepts that one day fate will bring him to a storm from which there is no escape.

Kazuha once traveled with a close companion, but that bond was cut short by the Vision Hunt Decree. His friend challenged the Shogun in a duel before the throne and was slain, his Vision taken. Kazuha rushed to save him but arrived too late. Grief-stricken and now a wanted man, he carried his friend’s empty Vision and fled. This marked the end of his days of peaceful wandering and the beginning of constant battles. Even so, he chose to honor his friend’s ideals by walking a new path: wielding his blade not to kill, but to protect.

Finding refuge with Captain Beidou and the Crux Fleet, Kazuha became part of the crew, admired for his skill with the sword and his ability to predict the weather. At sea, he found both freedom and companionship, reciting poetry to his shipmates and quietly carrying his burdens. Though sailors tried to pry into his past, Kazuha rarely spoke of it, revealing only his name and identity as a wandering samurai. With the Crux, he regained purpose, supporting the resistance in Inazuma, joining forces with the Traveler, and continuing to carry the empty Vision as both a relic of loss and a spark of hope.

In battle, the shell of his friend’s Vision unexpectedly lit up once more, as though his companion’s spirit lent him strength. This Vision brought Kazuha to many fateful encounters, from the resistance against the Shogun to the Traveler’s side. Despite his grief, he embraces the life of a wanderer with calm acceptance, seeing both sorrow and serendipity as part of the same journey. For Kazuha, the vast sky, the boundless earth, and the whisper of the wind are companions enough.

Appearance: Kazuha is an average height. Kazuha's hair is tied in an off-center ponytail to his right. Kazuha's outfit consists of a gray short-sleeved kimono, a black haori coat, red hakama pants with maple leaf designs, and black sandals with dark red tights and black leg plating. Half of Kazuha's haori coat is worn normally on his left arm, with a flowy orange sleeve decorated with orange and red maple leaves, while the other half is draped behind his waist and secured by an obi belt on top. Kazuha also wears a black and red scarf with gold accents, and a slanted belt that goes under his right arm and over his left shoulder, where his Anemo Vision is pinned behind. The Vision is tied to a red tassel decoration and is near samurai shoulder plating.

Kazuha also wears black glove plates that protect the backs of his hands and his left forearm. His right hand is bandaged, possibly to protect against injuries from constant sword use.

Personality: Kazuha is a polite and well-spoken person. Unlike other noble Inazuman clan members, he prefers going out and traveling rather than staying put indoors, something that he is able to do due to the seizure of his clan home. He once roamed Inazuma peacefully as a modest wanderer for a good portion of his life, teaching himself bladework and picking up other skills. Never seeking luxury, he is instead easily pleased just by sleeping on a sun-warmed rock. The time he has spent outdoors makes him attuned to nature and the wind, being able to "hear" and "smell" everything around him with absolute clarity.

Kazuha firmly believes that everyone is entitled to their hopes and dreams and that no one has the right to take them, not even a god. He happily does simple errands, offers advice, and is willing to help others.

After the death of his friend and joining the Crux he was quiet and wouldn't speak to any of his crewmates, but he eventually warmed up to them and according to Beidou is fairly chatty. Kazuha has a poetic side and enjoys penning haikus, though he claims to not be especially talented at it.

His most prized possession is his sword, a source of pride for Kazuha as both an Inazuman and a samurai. He is also incredibly fond of red maple leaves, finding them beautiful and enjoys seeing them rain during autumn. When unable to view such sights, he frequently collects and carries them as a memento to ease any homesickness.

The Crux is an armed fleet based in Liyue Harbor and led by Captain Beidou. The Crux is famous throughout Liyue for their daring adventures and rich bounties.

Kazuha uses an Anemo Vision.

Elemental Skill: Chihayaburu: Unleashes a secret technique as fierce as the rushing wind that pulls objects and opponents towards Kazuha's current position before launching opponents within the AoE, dealing Anemo DMG and lifting Kazuha into the air on a rushing gust of wind.

Elemental Burst: Kazuha Slash: The signature technique of Kazuha's self-styled bladework — a single slash that strikes with the force of the first winds of autumn, dealing AoE Anemo DMG.

Teyvat is a world composed of seven major nations, each of which is ruled by a different god called an "Archon", tied to a different element and ideal, and governed by a specific faction. The mysterious floating island of Celestia hangs above Teyvat, allegedly home to gods, as well as mortals who have ascended to godhood through great, heroic feats. Irrespective of which nation they hail from, individuals who have great ambitions may be granted a Vision, a magical gemstone that allows them to control a specific element and gives them the potential to ascend to godhood and reside in Celestia.

Hilichurls are a goblin-like family of monsters. As a hilichurl grows and survives, they eventually turn into Mitachurls, who are larger and bulkier. Mitachurls that continue to grow and survive eventually accumulate an excess of the elemental energy in their area, turning them into Lawachurls. It is not known how long it takes for this growth to occur. Many Hilichurls are also affiliated with the Abyss Order, as the Abyss Mages are able to speak fluent Hilichurlian.

The Treasure Hoarders are a gang of bandits who search for treasures to obtain and are located all around Teyvat.

Nobushi, also called vagrants, ronin, and Absconders, are Common Enemies found in Inazuma. They are wandering samurai who have fallen into banditry.

Most Kairagi are former yoriki of the Shogun's Army who left for various reasons and typically rob others to make a living. It appears that they can imbue their swords with the Elements through a forgotten technique with a paper seal from a Kamuna art.

The Adventurers' Guild is an organization that serves as an adventurer-for-hire service for the people and other organizations in the seven nations of Teyvat. The Guild collates all the complex word-of-mouth information it receives and redistributes it in the form of quests and adventures assigned to adventurers. "Ad astra abyssosque!" is the guild's motto. Katheryne is the receptionist for the Adventurers' Guild. Multiple, identical Katherynes exist, all serving as the Guild's receptionists.
