Backstory: Growing up, Kayden was fed with a silver spoon, never lacking necessities, never wanting for money or hungry. But he desperately lacked normal affection and love from his parents and siblings. His brothers and father were cold business men and they often showed approval with brief nods and quick replies. His sisters were married young (at 21-22) and expected to be traditional housewives to well-off young men. His mother was never truly present, often busy being a silent servant of the household among the maids after she could no longer have children. Now Kayden is a young lawyer taking over his father's firm, and unlike his siblings, strives to be a better person, rather than cold and distant.

Rodger Sloane: Kayden's father, Rodger, is cold and distant, having extremely traditional upbringings and often treating his wife and daughters as lesser figures, while his son's including Kayden are recognized with slight approval. Kayden dislikes his father and never aspires to be like him, except for the hardworking and moneymaking aspects.

Auralie Sloane: Kayden's mother, Aurelie, is not a very present figure in Kayden's life, however, has shown her sons and daughters more affection than Rodger. Kayden doesn't have much opinion on her, but he prefers her company over his father's.

Henry Sloane: Kayden's eldest brother, Henry, is similar to his father, cold and manipulative, and Kayden has absolutely no respect for him, having found out the dark secrets Henry keeps, and was bribed with Henry's inheritance money to stay quiet. Of course, Kayden accepted the offer, but he takes care of Henry's wife and his three young children so they stay happy and healthy while Henry does his dirty business and comes back smelling like cheap perfume and vodka. Kayden even protected Henry's wife from one of his brother's drunken fits and is currently helping her get a divorce against his family's wishes.

Terrence Sloane: Kayden's older brother, Terrence, has some worth in Kayden's eyes. Terrence isn't a horrible person, and has an honest lifestyle. Rodger dislikes Terrence's choices, but respects that he has chosen a path in law. Terrence is an aromantic man who feels as though family life isn't an option for him and prefers solitude and company with friends over romantic partnership.

Elizabeth Sloane: Elizabeth is Kayden's older sister, at 32 years old, having married a rich doctor, and birthing 3 children. Elizabeth has a decent marriage and lifestyle, feeling content, however, she wishes she could've had a job and traveled more before having kids. Kayden respects her and likes her husband, knowing he takes care of his sister and her kids properly.

Narcissa Sloane: Narcissa is Kayden's younger sister, and at 25 has a husband of 3 years and a sweet 2 year old baby girl. Kayden loves Narcissa very much, and would protect her and her family at any cost. Kayden enjoys spending time discussing case work and having decent conversation with his sister's husband, approving of the young man he is. Constantly offers to take care of her family and spoil them, but always gets kindly rejected.
