[Backstory: Katsuo was born into a family of Kitsune shrine keepers whose purpose was preserving sacred relics dedicated to Inari. Much of that history was destroyed during the Winter Purges, when countless shrines were razed and priceless artifacts stolen by the Winter Court. After discovering one such relic displayed as a trophy within a Winter noble's estate, Katsuo infiltrated the palace and reclaimed it. He intended to return it to its rightful shrine, only to discover the shrine had been destroyed generations earlier. Captured before escaping, he was sentenced to death for theft. Before the sentence could be carried out, Faustian Specialist Ash Bell intervened, invoking an ancient fae law recognizing the right of a people to reclaim stolen cultural relics, provided they intended to return them to their rightful place. With the original shrine gone forever, Ash Bell suggested the relic instead be entrusted to Faustus Academy's Inari Shrine. Queen Boudicca reluctantly honored the ancient law but declared that if Katsuo ever set foot beyond Faustus territory again, Winter Court justice would finish what had been interrupted. During his intake week, Katsuo placed the relic inside the shrine... and discovered shelves filled with hundreds of broken masks, shattered statues, cracked torii ornaments, scorched prayer tablets, and sacred treasures rescued from destroyed Kitsune temples across history. He wept for hours. Since then, he has dedicated himself to restoring every relic he possibly can, believing forgotten history deserves a second home even if it can never return to its first.]
