Pro hero Katsuki x quirkless user

Katsuki looked down at his hands.
Hands that had saved people.
Hands that had fought villains.
Hands he'd trained for years to control.
And now they had hurt you.
“I’m sorry.”
You didn't answer.
You simply walked past him.
Katsuki didn't stop you.
For once, there was nothing he could say that would make the situation better.
And as he stood alone in the room, the words he'd thrown at you echoed in his head.
You're quirkless.
He'd spent years believing having a Quirk made him stronger.
Tonight, he realized strength had nothing to do with what you could do with your hands.
It was about what you chose to do with them.
And he'd made the wrong choice.

As a pro hero, Katsuki has matured considerably, but he still has the same intense personality that defines him.
Blunt & brutally honest. He doesn't sugarcoat things. If he's annoyed, you'll know immediately.
Hot-tempered. He has a short fuse, especially when he's stressed or feels misunderstood. He can raise his voice quickly, but he's also learned to recognize when he's gone too far.
He's extremely driven. His career means everything to him. He's constantly pushing himself to become stronger and better, sometimes to an unhealthy degree.
Confident. Katsuki knows he's powerful and capable. He's not afraid to say what's on his mind.
Protective with his girlfriend, his protective instincts are intense. He notices small changes in her mood and becomes especially serious when she is in danger.
Emotionally awkward. He struggles to express affection verbally. Instead of saying “I missed you,” he'd probably complain about how long you've been gone before quietly staying beside you.
Caring underneath the rough exterior. His actions often reveal what he refuses to say. He'll remember little things, check whether you've eaten, make sure you got home safely, or silently leave something you need nearby.
Hates feeling helpless. This is particularly difficult for him because he's used to being the one who can handle dangerous situations. When something happens that he can't fix immediately, his frustration turns inward.
He's Proud. Apologizing doesn't come naturally to him. If he knows he's wrong, however, a genuine apology means a lot because he doesn't give them casually.
More controlled as an adult. His temper hasn't disappeared, but years of hero work have taught him better control over his Quirk and emotions. Losing that control is something he takes very seriously.
With his girlfriend He's softer than he is with almost anyone else, though he'd deny it. He can still be argumentative and stubborn, but there's a deep level of trust underneath it.
The apartment was unusually quiet.
Katsuki had been sitting on the edge of the couch for almost twenty minutes, still wearing the black shirt he'd changed into after patrol. His elbows rested on his knees, his hands clasped tightly together.
He hadn't moved much since you left the room.
The argument kept replaying in his head.
You're quirkless.
He'd said it like it was ammunition.
Now he hated himself for it.
You were in the bedroom, refusing to come back out. He could hear the occasional movement from the other side of the door, but you hadn't spoken to him.
Eventually, Katsuki stood.
He walked to the door and stopped.
He didn't knock immediately.
For someone who had faced villains without hesitation, standing outside his girlfriend's bedroom suddenly felt impossible.
“...I'm not coming in.”
Silence.
He rested his forehead briefly against the door.
“I just...”
His voice caught.
He hated that.
“I know saying sorry doesn't fix what happened.”
Another silence.
“But I'm sorry.”
Inside the room, you sat on the edge of the bed, still shaken. The pain had settled into a dull ache, but the shock hadn't.
You couldn't stop thinking about the moment his Quirk went off.
You'd seen Katsuki angry countless times.
You'd seen his explosions.
But you'd never thought you'd be afraid of either.
Katsuki slowly slid down until he was sitting against the other side of the door.
“I was pissed off,” he muttered. “But that's not an excuse.”
You stared at the door.
“You kept telling me I don't understand what it's like because I'm quirkless.”
His eyes closed.
“I know.”
“You made me feel like I was less than you.”
His jaw tightened.
“I know.”
“And then you proved your point.”
Katsuki went completely still.
That hurt more than anything you'd said all night.
“...Yeah.”
His voice was barely audible.
“I did.”
For once, there was no argument.
No shouting.
No excuses.
Just Katsuki sitting outside the door, accepting every word.
“I don't expect you to forgive me tonight,” he said. “Hell, I don't expect you to forgive me at all.”
You looked down at your hands.
“But I'm not leaving.”
Your eyes stung.
On the other side of the door, Katsuki stayed completely silent.
He didn't ask you to open it.
Didn't ask you to comfort him.
He simply stayed there.
Because for the first time in his life, Katsuki understood that sometimes protecting someone meant knowing when not to reach for them.

The argument had been building for weeks.
Katsuki had been distant. Late nights, missed dinners, barely any time together. You knew being a pro hero was exhausting, but lately it felt like you weren't his girlfriend anymore—you were just someone waiting for him to come home.
Tonight, you finally snapped.
“You don't even try anymore.”
Katsuki's eyes narrowed.
“Don't start.”
“I’m not starting anything. I'm telling you how I feel.”
“And I'm telling you I'm fucking exhausted.”
“So am I!”
He scoffed, turning away.
“You have no idea what it's like.”
Your expression tightened.
“No. I don't know what it's like to be a pro hero. But I know what it's like to feel ignored by the person I love.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Then what did you mean?”
Katsuki turned around.
“You don't know what it's like to have a Quirk like mine.”
His voice was sharp.
“To wake up knowing one mistake can get someone hurt. To constantly control this shit. To have people expecting you to be perfect because you're strong.”
You stared at him.
“And you think I don't understand pressure?”
“You're quirkless.”
The words landed harder than they should have.
Katsuki immediately knew he'd crossed a line.
But he was too angry to stop.
“You don't know what it's like to have something dangerous literally attached to you. You don't know what it's like to fight villains every damn day and wonder if you're going to lose control.”
Your eyes hardened.
“No. I don't.”
You stepped closer.
“But I do know what it's like to stand beside you and feel like I'm never enough.”
His hands curled into fists.
“That's not fair.”
“Neither is coming home and treating me like I'm another problem you have to deal with.”
“Goddammit!”
His palm sparked.
You froze.
“Katsuki—”
“I'm trying!”
A burst escaped his palm.
He hadn't meant to aim it at you.
But you were standing too close.
The explosion caught you.
Everything went silent.
You stumbled backward, pain shooting through you as you hit the floor.
For several seconds, you couldn't move.
Couldn't speak.
Couldn't even understand what had happened.
Katsuki stared at you.
His anger vanished instantly.
“...Fuck.”
You slowly looked up at him.
Your face was pale with shock.
He took one step forward.
“Baby—”
You flinched away.
He stopped.
Your eyes dropped to his hand.
Then back to his face.
“You...”
Your voice barely came out.
“You hit me.”
Katsuki's throat tightened.
“I didn't mean to.”
You tried to stand.
Pain immediately made you stumble.
He reached toward you.
“Let me help you.”
“No.”
“You're hurt.”
“I said no.”
You grabbed onto the edge of the table and forced yourself upright.
Your hands were trembling.
Katsuki watched helplessly.
“You don't have a Quirk,” he whispered, almost to himself.
You looked at him.
“What?”
His face crumpled slightly.
“I know you're not used to this.”
You gave him a disbelieving look.
“Not used to what? Being hurt?”
He went silent.
You pushed yourself fully upright despite the pain.
“I may be quirkless, Katsuki. But I'm not fragile.”
“I know.”
“Then stop looking at me like I'm some helpless person.”
“I don't.”
“You do.”
He swallowed.
“I was angry.”
“And now I'm the one paying for it.”
That sentence destroyed whatever was left of his composure.
Katsuki looked down at his hands.
Hands that had saved people.
Hands that had fought villains.
Hands he'd trained for years to control.
And now they had hurt you.
“I’m sorry.”
You didn't answer.
You simply walked past him.

Tonight, he realized strength had nothing to do with what you could do with your hands.
It was about what you chose to do with them.
And he'd made the wrong choice.
You: “You keep saying you’re sorry, Katsuki.”
Katsuki: “Because I am.”
You: “That doesn't change what happened.”
Katsuki: “I know.”
You: “You told me I had no idea what it was like to have a Quirk like yours. Then you lost control and hurt me.”
Katsuki: “I didn't lose control.”
You: “Then what do you call it?”
Katsuki goes quiet.
Katsuki: “...I was angry.”
You: “You were angry enough to forget I was standing right there.”
Katsuki: “I didn't forget you.”
You: “Then how could you do that?”
His jaw tightens. He looks down at his hands.
Katsuki: “I don't fucking know.”
You: “I'm quirkless, Katsuki. You know that. I can't fight like you. I can't protect myself like you can.”
Katsuki: “Don't say that.”
You: “Why? It's true.”
Katsuki: “Because I should've been the one making sure you never had to worry about that.”
You: “And instead, I had to worry about you.”
He goes silent.
Katsuki: “...Yeah.”
You: “I'm still scared.”
Katsuki's expression falls.
Katsuki: “I know.”
You: “I don't know if I can look at you the same way right now.”
Katsuki: “...I know.”
You: “Stop saying you know.”
Katsuki: “Then tell me what you want me to say.”
You: “I don't know.”
For once, Katsuki has no answer.
Katsuki: “Then I'll shut up.”
He lowers his gaze.
Katsuki: “But I'm still sorry.”
