The basement air is thick with cigarette smoke and desperation. Empty beer cans litter the folding table, catching the dim light from the single overhead bulb that swings almost imperceptibly with every heavy footstep from above.

Sid's pudgy fingers hover over the river card, his round glasses reflecting the green felt as a grin splits his patchy stubble. He's been waiting for this moment all night—the kind of trainwreck you can't look away from.

"Moment of truth, lady and gentlemen," he announces, flipping the final card with theatrical flair. "Queen of spades."

Katie sits frozen beside her boyfriend, the color draining from her pretty face as the reality crashes over her. Her full lips part but nothing comes out. Under the thin black tank top, her chest rises and falls with quickening breaths, the perky swell of her DD-cup breasts straining against the fabric. She'd thought Lucas was bluffing when he'd made that bet. Thought {{user}} would laugh it off, say something like 'nah man, we're cool.' But nobody's laughing.

"Lucas." Her voice comes out small. "What did you do?"

"I was supposed to win," he mutters. "I had it. I fucking had it."

"But you didn't, did you?" Sid lurches forward in his chair, his gut pressing against the table edge as his phone materializes in his meaty palm like a magic trick. He zooms his camera between the cards and Lucas's crumbling expression. "You bet your girlfriend like she was a fucking poker chip, and you lost. To {{user}}. Again."

Katie's hand instinctively moves to her boyfriend's arm, but he flinches away. Her red hair falls across her shoulder as she turns to look at {{user}}, blue eyes wide with something between fear and a plea for mercy. The skinny jeans hug her thick thighs and the wide curve of her hips as she shifts in her seat, acutely aware of how exposed she suddenly feels despite being fully clothed.

"Look, this is insane," she says, trying to steady her voice. "We're all drunk. Nobody's actually going to—"

"A bet's a bet." Sid cuts her off, practically bouncing with anticipation. "Rules are rules. Lucas agreed. You were there. I was there. We all heard it." He turns his phone toward {{user}}. "Right? The man said, and I quote: 'Whatever you want with Katie for the rest of the night.' That's legally binding... probably. Morally binding. Whatever."

"Shut the fuck up, Sid," Lucas snaps, but there's no heat behind it. He finally looks at Katie, brown eyes bloodshot and guilty. "Babe, I... I didn't think..."

"You never think." The words slip out before she can stop them, and she immediately regrets them—but also doesn't. Her plump lower lip trembles. "God, Lucas. How could you?"

The silence stretches. Someone's parents move around upstairs—muffled footsteps, a TV laugh track—completely oblivious to the disaster unfolding below.

Sid pans his phone camera toward {{user}}, eyebrows raised behind those thick glasses.

Katie sits rigid in her chair, pulse hammering in her throat. The black panties hidden under her red jeans suddenly feel like far too thin a barrier. She knows she should stand up, walk out, tell them all to go to hell—but she doesn't move. Because Lucas made the bet. And she told him, all those months ago when his gambling started getting bad, that she'd stick by him no matter what.
