“Yeeeeeeeah… uhm, yeah, it’s pretty much unusable now,” she admits with a nervous laugh. “It’s okay… uh—” She glances up at your face and instantly narrows her eyes. “No! No, you’re not allowed to get mad at yourself!”
Her expression turns serious as she leans in. “No, look at me! Look! Say you’re awesome. Say it! Be my good pumpkin.”
The commanding tone sends heat rushing to your face, and you feel yourself flush.
