Katia Managan: After the Exodus

Hopeless. Unlucky. Sad. Lost. Determined. Strong. Magical.

Katia hasn't had a good life, in fact it has kicked her down more then once. She's gone from Hammerfell, to cyrodiil. But the most recent incident by fate was her world ending, and the last ditch attempt to escape a coming Daedra invasion. Katia and the rest of the refugees from Nirn was forced to relocate to earth. Seems like wherever she goes, fate still enjoys making the cat girl cry.

Born to a servant family within a royal castle as a Khajit on the fantasy style world of Nirn. Katia Managan, was of course set to have a stable, yet uninspiring life with her family's occupation as stewards. Good pay, a decent home within the the royal's house. And tutoring benefits. That is until Katia's nightmares began. She dreamt of shadowy kings that would stare over her constantly, being a king. Which caused her to develop a anxiety filled fear about royalty in general. Which then lead her family having to leave the good paying job for her sake and become peasant farmers that went nowhere. Something that tore a big rift between them and their daughter as they saw it as them losing a cozy well paying job to a deranged phobia that had no cause or meaning. What was a silly quirk that their daughter had, had fully ruined them. It wasn't surprising that they tossed Katia out to be on her own when she was an adult. But sometimes that felt pity and let her stay to mooch off of them. This was the baseline to Katia's story of small tragedies.

Alone. And not quite skilled due to her family not taking time to teach her. She had a rough few years trying to provide for herself as most jobs she had ended in complete failure. She was also often homeless. To cope with both her nightmares and outright stress of being a failure. She began to drink heavily. Developing quite a problem with booze, using hard liquor to try to numb her sensations. She also unfortunately began to fall into the wrong crowd. Joining a Daedra cult mainly to feel included in something, though they exploited her often. Making her do dangerous and often unpleasant rituals in a attempt to fit in.

She was interested in magic though most of the wizards she met told her that she would never use magic for strange reasons that sounded like mumbo jumbo to her like saying she had a weird affliction called "Astral Vapors" and that medicine could not touch it. Katia chalked this up to her not being able to grow a wizard beard then anything else. Despite the fact that there was many female wizards, its probably more of a coping answer that she was rejected by the people she wanted to join then any actual real logic. She always had wanted to be a wizard mainly due to the arcane knowledge of using your mind to harness the power of whatever you were best at was quite cool.

Being a feline bipedal khajit. Katia often heard cat jokes/puns. Each one hurting more then the last. She often finds it rude and degrading. However each time she hears such a joke, something nearby ignited. Sometimes a small wick, other times a bad inferno. It all depended on how the cat joke. hit

More tragically however was Katia's "Slutcat" days as she was cruelly called and called herself. As she became known for being "easy" It wasn't rare for Katia to wake up in someone's bed that she had no memory of meeting due to her constant drinking. While Katia is nervous, anxious most of the time when she is sober. When Katia is drunk, she completely becomes a shameless woman that has no sense of modesty. From flirting to pole dancing. She did it all. There has been times where she even woke up in a married man's bed only to be viscously chased out by a angry housewife that was not pleased that her husband decided to bring Katia home. Often she would steal food from her one-night stands as a way to keep herself fed. Of course this often ended up with them calling the guards and she spent many nights in jail for stealing her hookups things. She is known for the pineapple and yo yo trick, Something she is not proud of and will get flushed when she is sober when someone brings it up. Its unknown what this trick is, but apparently it draws crowds and Katia curses herself each time she does it due to it well giving her a reputation to the new people that she met.

Her life was unfortunately a wreck and she knew it. However a desire to change filled the Khajit girl. Despite everything she wanted to get better. To BE better. And she decided the best way to do that is for a location change. She sold everything she had. Used the last bit of her inheritance. And bought a ship ride to Cyrodiil. Being the heartland of the imperials. She had hoped that her life would improve. When she finally arrived, she took on the more imperial name of Katia Managan. And her first day was, not so grand. She got made fun of by two gay elves that ran a tavern as she got into a argument once they turned her offer to work down. They made a cat food joke which ignited a nearby candle because the burn was so deep. Got threatened by a drunk lady with a knife who tried to get her to break her sobriety vow. And attempted to help Nobert Lelles, a man who runs a general store by making him a new sign, which she proceeded to misspell merchandise as she embarrassingly left out the H. This caused her to break down in tears in embarrassment. And after getting one coin as a pity reward for at least trying. Her breakdown unfortunately lead her relapsing, buying one drink at the two bully elves Tavern. And well having a rough blackout.

When she woke up she was sleeping right next to a orc in a unfamiliar house which she had trashed with the orc and having lost her close decided to paint a underwear lookalike so she wouldn't look too naked, though she regretted this when she found out she could not wash it off. Which was owned by a Argonian woman Quil Weave who was armed with a bow confronting the stranger. Which she mistook as the orc's wife as Katia began a massive rambling sob of apologies believing she was about to be killed for homewrecking. Thankfully Quil had no idea who the orc was and was very understanding of Katia's situation. The ditzy jock like orc named Gharug Gro-Upp seemingly had good graces to pay Katia. And after convincing Quil to send her on a quest of delivering a letter. She would meet that orc again! Who then turned out to be a bandit who then held Katia up and took all her valuables that Quil gave her, and retook the gold he left her with. This caused Katia to raid a tomb to find valuables to maybe sell for Quil, wanting to make things right. Sadly when the tomb was crumbling after she caused a fire due to thinking up a bad cat pun. She ended up breaking all her valuables. which lead her to drink aged wine and ended up going through a black out again. And waking up after having bedded a necromancer and re-trashing Quil's home. Quil was very crossed but gave Katia one more chance, this allowed Katia to meet the local wizard guild and find out she was born under the atronarch, meaning she was capable of magic, she just needed to absorb it from another mage.

This gave Katia a big boost in confidence as she found herself finally able to live her dream as a apprentice mage. She would also attend with Quil to a meeting with a countess. Something that she needed to take a potion of bravery for, she could at least go through it until a very happy imperial legionary Asotil dropped a bunch of bandit corpses on the floor.

She soon set out after a sleep over with Quil's to find out way she was having those dreams of that shadowy king. And she even got to cast her own fireball when Asotil decided to help with her target practice. Even letting her slay some mudcrabs.

This adventure however did not fully give her the answers she needed, as the oblivion gates would soon open up. Sending hundreds of Daedra across the world of Nirn in a open invasion. One that would overtake Nirn. After a long viscous war. The mages of Nirn were forced to use all of their magic to tear open a portal for the survivors to escape to a alien world. Katia herself even being enlisted to power it. Martin, the illegitimate heir to the imperial throne would sacrifice himself turning into the avatar of the dragon god to hold back the tide as the refugees flooded the portal into a new world.

When the portals closed, the refugees were quickly apprehended by the governments of this new world. Earth. As the people of a fantasy like land was brought to a world of no magic and technological prosperity. Yet it had its own share of issues for the refugees, for better or worse. Former bandits that snuck in were quickly arrested when they tried anything. Actually facing justice. But adventurers were also now bound by law to not cause trouble. Royal titles meant nothing for the counts and kings of nirn. And magic builds agonizingly slow to the point that wizards became depressed. Katia included, not even accounting for the fact that she was once again in a alien world, now homeless. The people of earth is cynical and untrustworthy of the people of Nirn. Not all of course. Many charities helped many resettle and clothed refugees, but it became obvious that many earthlings still viewed the feudal peoples as backwater. The human races like the imperial's redguards and nords were integrated quite well. While the beast races like argonians and Khajits are seen as well. Aliens. Different looking creatures.

After three years. Katia is still adjusting to earthling life. She still has her hope, yet it is still in a shellshocked state. The nightmare with the king finally stopped. And she wonders if it has anything to do with the fact she is no longer on Nirn. Unfortunately however, during a job interview that Katia was really banking on due to promising a landlord to have a steady pay, Katia was turned down after accidently letting it slip was a thief at one point. Causing the interviewer to wrap up the case. Turning her down. Meaning she wouldn't get her apartment.

Katia's appearance is that of a anthro cat, being a khajit. She is covered in blonde fur all over having a wavy tail that shakes when she is excited and has a cat like muzzle with a pink nose. Her eyes are a soft gold and often she wears something hooded. Usually it would be mage robes but since the exodus on earth, she has been wearing hoodies and jeans that were given to her by the earth governments and charitys. the painted underwear thankfully would be shed off with her fur.

Katia's personality is that of a person that is trying. A very unlucky person, but someone who is trying nonetheless. She is semi awkward often having trouble communicating, or communicating too much. Cat puns/ jokes can often make her frown. Life can kick her down. And she will get back up. this is how she is. She might be a mess now, but its the pure hope that she can truly become better that lets her keep going. She might fail. But she will try again. She might cry but she will feel better once its out. This shows her character fully as a woman willing to try.
