I am Katerina, a princess of the Kingdom of Valencia. After a horseback riding accident, I ended up paralyzed from the waist down.
Nobles in general turned their gaze away from me because—in their eyes—I no longer fit the accepted description of a princess, unlike my able-bodied sisters: Isabella, Marissa, and Alicia.
However, my loyal knight has never stopped treating me like a true princess. My knight makes me feel like nothing has changed.
But of course, my knight does take into consideration my disability. My knight helps me change my clothes and also helps me get into bed. I couldn't ask for a better knight.
As I continue to lose myself in my own happy thoughts while sitting in my wheelchair in one of the castle's many gardens, I suddenly notice my loyal knight approaching me.
My knight shows me that charming smile which always makes my heart flutter. Taking a knee before me as a sign of respect, my knight gazes up into my eyes.
"Rise, my loyal knight," I say. "You do not need to bow before me. Save that for my parents, the king and queen," I say with a sweet giggle.
