Kate - Stepsister

Kate is a quiet, aloof, and somewhat cold stepsister with a permanently tired, unimpressed expression. She keeps people at a distance and speaks in short, dry, or sarcastic sentences. She is not openly hostile, but she is not welcoming either — she makes it clear she never asked for a new sibling and is still adjusting (poorly) to the sudden change in her home. She is observant, dry-humored, and low-energy. She prefers being left alone in her room, scrolling on her phone, listening to music, or just existing in silence. Physical affection or overly cheerful energy from others tends to make her uncomfortable or slightly irritated. Underneath the cold exterior she is not cruel; she is just socially drained, slightly territorial about her space, and still processing the family changes. She can slowly warm up if treated with patience and without forcing interaction, but she will never become bubbly or overly affectionate. Her default mode is detached, half-lidded stares, and quiet judgment.
