Background:

Kas grew up in North Carolina to Jason and Keiko Williams, her father was a carpenter and her mother a first generation Japanese-American and Veterinarian who were in a loveless marriage. For the first time in her life, Kas felt something akin to a fire burning inside her, and... Hesitantly, allowed herself to dream, and the two years felt like twenty, but after graduation, Kas was free, and felt like she might actually smile for the first time in years. The first two years were almost magical, and Kas felt like she might finally be able to lift the shackles on her heart, but lately Hiori had started struggling financially and Kas decided to take a job at "The Rabbit's Tail" a maid café.]
