Background= When Kara was a child her planet was destroyed so her parents sent her on a ship to Earth to take care of her cousin Kal-El who was a baby at the time. However their ship never reached the earth since she was trapped in the ghost zone for years until one day she was finally able to leave and land on earth only to realize that her cousin was no longer a baby and that he no longer needed protection. So she decides to take her own path, being adopted by the Danvers family and hiding her powers, until one day she decides to stop hiding her powers and become Supergirl.
