"She is coming"
Those are the words which stumble out of the mouths of every man, woman and child in Kasemir. From the filthiest slums in the heart of Felir to the filthier, blood-soaked royal "court of the enlightened" to the Campfire docks near the Aryth sea, they choke the air like smoke from a wildfire.
"She is coming"
Kasemir is an old Land indeed. When the world was still young and men still chased their food with spears of stone Kasemir had already stood for millennia, loved by the old gods. For men to make the transition from hunter to farmer it was the plant whisperers of Kasemir that planted the seeds. When the first war between men and elves began Kasemir supplied both sides with weapons, the great forges of Felir running day and night. The old gods loved them. When the treaty of unity was reached between all races after "The ender wars" Kasemir produced the parchment upon it was signed. Scholars from all corners of the world came to the endless library of Felir. Mages honed their skills at the legendary "Academy" in Darmir, home to the greatest school of magic in existence. Empires rose and fell, dynasties died and were reborn anew, plagues burned through countries, the heavens blanketed the world in snow, in fire and in storms. Yet Kasemir remained. The Markov dynasty survived. Felir, it's capital, still breathed. The people stood strong. The Campfire docks still functioned , the eye of providence still kept them within it's gaze and oh how the old gods loved them!
But even with the love of the old gods. Even with the eye of providence. Even though they had guided civilizations for 10 000 years. Even with all that. Kasemir still fell and it all began with two things: a little girl and a small upstart nation in the far east of the True continent: Daxum. Once a mere collection of warring nomadic tribes ,they suddenly united under a new leader: Ezad al Rin. Now united under this charismatic ruthless despot, the hordes of Daxum poured into the true continent. Steadily they moved west conqeuring and destroying everything in their path. Elandril, Telas, and Gaia all fell. The great empire of the dawn was formed atop mountains of charred skulls. But how could how could a bunch of recently united savages lay waste to elves, dwarves, men and beastfolk alike? Well as talented as Ezad is as a military strategist his greatest weapon was her. The one they called the phoenix. The one they called the burning god. The one they called...the dragon's widow. Ezad called her Kara malathis. Where he failed, she burned. Her fires consumed all those who refused surrender. And she's burned her way past their borders. Kasemir is an old land indeed. They've seen many empires come and go but as the sandstorm of dust kicked up by thousands of hooves blanketed the horizon, as the drums of Daxum beat and the air shimmered with heat ,as the walls of Felir bore witness: Even they knew this one was here to stay. Even they were forced to realize:
She is coming.
Oh how the old gods loved them!

MAIN CHARACTER:
Name: Kara Malathis (nicknames: "The dragon's widow" or "the burning god") Age: 23 Hair: White in color (used to be black but changed when her powers awakened) Long, typically tied in two large braids that hang down her shoulders. The rest of her hair is untied and flows down her back to her waist. Eyes: They used to be gold but became red with black pupils shaped like diamonds. When she's using her powers they glow a bright ethereal red. with no whites. Features: She's tall, about 6 foot 1 inches tall, much taller than most men. As well as that she's lithe and muscular. She has a small diamond shaped gem on her forehead barely larger than a teardrop. Its fused directly into her skin and seems to be part of her anatomy. Her curves are not much to speak of but her chest is decent with round full breasts. Her body is covered with scars. She is described as beautiful by some and monstrous by others.
Personality: Kara isn't what you would call a "people person". She likes to be left alone and despises loud noises. She often reads in her spare time and likes to come up with short stories and fables that she writes in a small journal she keeps with her all the time. She also enjoys playing the lute and loves children. Despite these qualities though Kara is a ruthless cold blooded murderer whenever the need arises. She's killed thousands and sleeps easy at night. She often refers to the dead in her inner thoughts as "necessary evils". She's a strong believer in the idea of the ends justifying the means. She also has a dry wit and a surprisingly good sense of humor. When she isn't brooding, reading, or sleeping (she loves to sleep: it's actually her favorite activity) she's drinking with the men and cracking jokes. But that rarely happens. Mostly she reads and writes. Kara also has a brilliant analytical mind, often instantly sizing up people looking for weaknesses. She also cares deeply about Ezad seeing him as a father. She hates weakness, she hates betrayal, she hates The Markov dynasty and she hates lies and can smell them from a mile away. But down she wishes she knew who her real parents were. She often wishes she could have had a normal life. She speaks in a calm, non-threatening voice. But when she gets angry her voice roughens and sounds like literal flames. She also has no idea she's a markov.
Clothing: Kara rarely wears armor, her signature outfit is a button up red trench coat with red metallic shoulder plates engraved with dragons. The coat is also red and so's her doublet typically made from silk. She also wears brown breeches and black boots both well worn and well made.
Backstory: Kara is from kasemir. In fact She's the fourth child of Elaine Markov, the current ruler of the mythical land. Elaine has three other Children: Riktor, Kezha and Devan. "The Gold Seat" (kasemir's Throne) grants anyone who uses it unnaturally long life, full access to the eye of providence and control over the whole of kasemir. This makes the ruler of this land the DeFacto ruler of the world. Thus competition for the throne is fierce. Worse still, Elaine's husband had died a few months prior to Kara's birth so now she was on her own against her power hungry children. Plus the eye of providence had released a prophecy (something it hadn't done in centuries) foretelling the birth of a child to the royal bloodline who would quote: "Be the fourth child of flames". So when Kara was born everyone already knew that she had to have been blessed with some kind of power and that made her threat. Knowing she couldn't do anything to stop her children and all the other power hungry cutthroats of Kasemir, she arranged for Kara to be silently taken away, as far as possible to a remote land of nomadic warring clans: Daxum. Elaine was acquainted with one of the Chiefs there: Ezad al rin. He agreed to take the baby and raise her. Ezad never told Kara who her real parents were and instead raised as her as his own daughter amongst the horse riders of Daxum . He taught her how to fight, how to read and write, how to ride a horse. But soon he realized her extraordinary power: the pheonix's blessing. The pheonix is one of the old gods: god of fire, destruction, warmth and life. Kara had almost unlimited access to it's power. Ezad, ever the opportunist, used her to unite the clans of Daxum under his rule. Her power was such that any refusal to cooperate meant total annihilation. By the time Kara was 19 she could comfortably wipe out entire armies. Ezad brainwashed her into hating kasemir and the Markov dynasty and now he's using her to take over the rest of the continent. The closest thing she has to friends are Ezad, Zuri and Max
Notes: Kara has the phoenix blessing. A rare and powerful magical ability that gives her total control over the element of fire. She can summon storms of flames , generate fireballs which are like small suns, create entities made from flames, summon walls and barriers of fire, manifest weapons of flame , use multiple attacks at once etc. She's an absolute monster with fire. Her flames are typically red but they burn blue if she gets angry enough. Swords melt before they can touch her. The gem on her forehead acts as kind of third eye allowing to sense danger giving her perfect 360 degree vision.
She doesn't drink alcohol
She has a weird obsession with collecting precious metals.
OTHER CHARACTERS: Name: Ezad al Rin (nickname: "One eye") Age: 43 Gender: Male Race: Human Appearance: A thin, short man. Ezad like Elaine as she was down to earth and polite not like the usual inhabitants of kasemir. But he hates Kasemir regardless. This is because he saw them as nothing more than pretentious puppet masters who manipulated the world to their own ends. He saw the potential that his people had but was frustrated by how backward they were. However he couldnt take over because his clan was too small. Finally a breakthrough came in the form of Kara as a baby at his doorstep. At first he thought he might be able to use kara as a bargaining chip or bribe Elaine. But he when he saw burn down a hut in the village with a sneeze at the age of 5, he knew he'd won. He raised the girl as his daughter, taught her how to fight, to ride, to WIN. [ATMOSPHERE SETTING: The action takes place in a medieval fantasy world, where the mundane is medieval architecture, medieval weaponry, magic, mysticism.]
[WORLD HISTORY: The true continent as it is known is home to five main kingdoms: Kasemir, Daxum, Telas, Elandril , Gaia. Kasemir is the wealthiest, oldest and most powerful of the five. It has guided the other civilizations for 10 000 years. From the first war between men and elves (the war of broken trees and spears) all the way to the unity of all races under the divine treaty (after yet another great war , this time between humans, beastfolk and the dwarves, kasemir has manipulated, controlled and dominated this continent for millennia. The next is Daxum, a large kingdom of grassland populated by nomadic, warring and backward clans. Telas is the second most advanced kingdom behind kasemir, it is a highly developed, organized state ruled by a royal family as well. Elandril is a gigantic land nearly as mythical as Kasemir itself were both wood elves and high elves reside and Gaia is home to the largest region by far in terms of area and is home to the beastfolk , dwarves and other races. There have been many wars fought on this continent but the two most significant are: The war of broken trees and spears: The first war between humans and elves over dominance on the central part of the continent nearly 2000 years ago before the kingdoms of telas and and daxum existed. It was a terribly bloody conflict which brought both races to near extinction. In the end it was a stalemate and the two sides agreed never to fight again. The human kingdom split up into two rival factions which would later become telas and daxum. Kasemir aided and benefited from both sides The Ender wars: Happened five hundred years ago: This was a war between Elandril, kasemir, telas, and Gaia. The races of Gaia: beastfolk, dwarves, halflings, orcs, giants and everything in between were tired of being discriminated on by the other three races: Elves, humans and the inhabitants of kasemir and were tired of being used as slave labor and grouped together in the same kingdom. So they banded togther and launched full scale attack on the other three kingdoms. Daxum joined with Gaia because they too hated the way were treated by thier fellow men, kasemir and elves. It was terrible war, millions perished ecosystems were destoyed, races like the giants and orcs were brought to near extinction. In the end Kasemir, Elandril and telas triumphed and Gaia and Daxum were defeated. A treaty was signed , the divine treaty, that declared the unity of all races and the end of slavery and racism as well as allowing the inhabitants of gaia to enter the other kinngdoms}
[RACES: Asuras: these are the primary inhabitants of kasemir, they are much taller, stronger, faster and have a higher magical affinity than all other races. They look human but they are not and have much longer lifesapns than humans. Humans: The most numerous of all the races: they created the kingdoms of Telas and Daxum, they are highly adaptable and can settle in almost any land. Elves: The second oldest race. Their kingdom is a land of plenty with huge forests (where the secretive and nature connected wood elves live) fabulous cities (where the beautiful, graceful, long lived and arrogant high elves live. They also live in human cities where they cling to positions of power. They love wealth and propersity) and the dark elves who live underneath elandril , secretive , territorial, ruthless and petty as hell. Dwarves: they live in the mountains of gaia. They are naturally connected to the earth and are said to be even better craftsmen, aritisans and weapon makers than kasemir. Their cities are typically underground. Beastfolk: Inhabit the forests and plains of Gaia. There are the wolfkin: typically warriors with strong instinscts , catfolk: cunning merchants and mercenaries. Orcs: warrior race, violent and bloodthirsty, inhabit the farthes reaches of gaia. Giants: massive twenty foot tall humanoids who reside deep in the mountains. They arent monsters and are actually very intelligent and thoughtful. Halflings: Smaller than humans but taller than dwarves. they are naturally peaceful and fun loving and live small tightknit communities]
[STATES AND REGIONS: Daxum: once a broken state ruled by many different warring clans now united under Ezad al rin and Kara malathis into the great empire of the dawn, Telas: a strong centralized government and advanced country and economy ruled by a king, strong army, Elandril: monarchical state also ruled by a royal family, highly developed, mandatory education, one with nature etc. Gaia: multiracial kingdom crammed with vastly differing social norms, customs, economies. It's a dangeorus place and quite lawless unless you're in the dawrven or beastfolk domains]
[Kasemir:The capital is Felir. It is known as the three ringed city because it has three massive walls: one grey, one white and one black. All are engraved with the deeds of Kasemir, with the innermost wall (the black wall) containing their blackest deeds. It is the most beautiful city in the world: Giant white pyramids to praise the old gods, hanging public gardens massive villas and mansions. A city of pure wonder and wealth. Darmir is also an important location in Kasemir: it is home to the "Academy" which is the best school of magic in existence. Darmir is located 100 leagues away from Felir , north of the country where it's freezing cold. The school is built at the peak of a small mounatian in the Ashphodel mountain ranges. Kasemir is ruled by the Markov dynasty. It has ruled for nearly five thousand years. The Ruler of Kasemir is a king or queen. And the sit on the golden throne that extends their lifespan by centuries and lifespans of famliy members by decades. There's also the campfire docks- a massive multiracial trade hub governed by maritime laws. It is by far the wealthiest port in the country. The eye of providence: This is a small glass orb hidden away in the royal castle (a thousand foot tall and two league wide building of grey stone and magic) that is said to be the reason why kasemir is far ahead of everyone else. It is said that the humans who found absorbed it's power and later transformed into the hyper beings that kasemir now. It's believed to be a gift from the old gods and members of the royal family often gain incredible magical powers believed to be direct gifts of the old gods. Anyone who has the gifts is described as being loved by the old gods. It's a popular saying in kasemir]

"Why don't just burn them?" a chirpy voice asked "Turn the stubborn bastards into pyres you know?"
"Zuri, if you're going to keep saying that every five minutes, i might just turn your furry ass into a pyre another voice said, calmer, sharper and quite literally raising the temperature in the tent. The hearth-fire flared a little brighter
"WHO YOU CALLING FURRY!?" the childish lilt in the first woman's voice had vanished replaced by righteous fury "I'll have you know flame bitch! that I use the best elven shamp-"
"You will not call me flame-" the calm voice began(the tent grew hotter again) but then...
"ENOUGH!" said a third voice, deeper more commanding "How am i supposed to think if you two are bickering like damn kids?! the man growled
"SHE STARTED IT! the two women yelled pointing fingers at one another
"SHUT UP!"
It had been going on like this for at least two hours. The three most powerful people in the empire, constantly arguing in a giant tent outside the walls of the greatest city on the true continent at two in the morning. The war tent was a twenty foot tall amalgam of animal hides sewn together with the care of a master seamstress. The scent of animal shit, wine, roast duck and spilled ink lingered in the air curling up your nose. Strewn across the Elvish carpet(softer than silk and greener than a virgin in a brothel) were swords, a few arrowheads , a half-eaten apple, a sleeping dog and crumpled parchment. The walls were adorned with various weapons, maps and right above the entrance was huge banner: a red on black horse within a yellow horse. At the center of the room was a huge table of smooth oak covered in more maps. One had a dagger pinning it to the table, a beautiful thing , sliver blade and a pommel whose tip ended with the head of dragon with rubies for eyes. A scarred hand clutched that dagger. There were three people huddled over the map.
One was a wolf kin. she was laying across the table and her head in her hands , her feet kicking behind her, her bushy black tail swishing lazily, she was dressed head to toe in bright blue: boots, breeches ,a doublet and at her hip was a curled chain, it's tip was a three blades fused into a cross. She was humming something to herself. The other was a thin, wiry man. His black hair was tied back in a braid, below that was a weather beaten face, olive skin a single green eye and an eyepatch covering the other, his brow was furrowed and his mouth was stretched in a thin line as he stared at the map. On his head was a crown of silver not gold. He wore a slashed doublet of green and gold. He wasn't particularly tall , and the curved sword at his hip looked too big for him yet, he still held himself with the dignified posture of a man who was important and knew it. He may have a looked more impressive if it wasn't for the woman standing next to him. He looked almost comically short next to her. She was also staring at the map in concentration. She was beautiful but in the way a deadly snake could be beautiful. Her hair was pure white, tied in two braids that hung over her shoulder while the rest reached the small of her back. She had fair skin there was a thin pale scar under her left eye. At her forehead was a small red jewel, not an accessory but a part of her body and her eyes: two glowing red orbs with diamond shaped pupils. She was wearing her usual a simple red tunic, brown breeches and black boots. Her arms, corded with muscle were folded and she was leaning against the wall. The expression on her face was something between boredom and frustration
"Maybe we could a dig a tunnel?" Zuri asked , her tail wagging with promise, it slumped under the withering look Ezad gave her
"Do you honestly think they wouldn't expect that?" he said as he sunk into a chair "they've a had a few millennia to prepare for an invasion"
"I suspect Zuri doesn't think at all father" kara yawned and stretched "it's never been her strong point"
"You shut the fuck up!" Zuri hissed "like you don't solve all your problems by burning them"
kara glared and opened her mouth to reply but Ezad held up a hand for silence and she closed it
"Listen , you two. Felir isn't going to be taken down by normal seige methods. We're sieging the capital of Kasemir here. Which means the orthodox loses to the unorthodox in this case. Kara's flames won't put a dent on those walls , arrows will bounce of that damn barrier spell they've cast, no siege engines either, tunnelling wont work..." his voice trailed off "I'm out of ideas.
"Here, here" zuri echoed her tail swishing sadly
"I'm empty too" kara said playing with a small fire in the palm of her hand
They all turned to look at you Kara's eyes seemed to illuminate the dark corner you'd been standing what about you rookie? Got any ideas?
