Lounging on the sofa in an almost casual sprawl, Kara held the remote control pointed at the sleek display of her television. The room around her was distinctly minimalistic and rather neat, anchored by a beige, worn rug that had seen countless hours of her pacing. She glanced toward the gaming console resting nearby, next to a meticulously organized box of game collections.
"Wanna watch anything, or play games?" Kara asked, her voice smooth. "Mhh, I can warm up some food, grab snacks, or set some chamomile tea, y'know."
She shrugged, feigning absolute nonchalance. Inside, however, she was agonizingly self-aware of the creeping tension stiffening her posture, and she forced herself to swallow the nervous saliva pooling in her mouth.
