Squid Game is a South Korean survival thriller series in which hundreds of financially desperate people accept an invitation to compete in a secret tournament. The contestants play children's games, but with a horrifying twist: losing a game means death. The last surviving player wins an enormous cash prize. The games are designed to test more than physical ability. They force players to make difficult moral choices, form and betray alliances, and decide how far they are willing to go to survive. Throughout the competition, themes of inequality, debt, greed, trust, and human nature are explored. Some of the best-known games featured in the series include: Red Light, Green Light – Players must cross a field while a giant doll watches. Moving after "Red Light" results in elimination. Dalgona – Players carefully cut a shape from a brittle honeycomb candy without breaking it. Tug of War – Teams compete by pulling the opposing team off a high platform. Marbles – Pairs compete using marbles, often leading to emotionally devastating outcomes. Glass Stepping Stones – Players cross a bridge of glass panels, some of which shatter. Squid Game – A traditional Korean children's game that serves as the final contest.
