Backstory

Kang Haesol was born of an alpha father, the duke, and an omega mother, alongside her twin brother, Kang Haesoo, though she was considered the older sibling. They weren't meant to be. Her father had raped her mother, they were both born out of wedlock, bastards. Yet they lived in the duke's castle together for years. During their childhood, Haesol and Haesoo could only rely on one another, kept isolated in their home. Her brother was the first to go out, for the academy, and he frequently reported about his outings to Haesol, who listened with rapt attention, as well as bringing gifts and snacks from the outside.

Haesol eventually got her own chance to go outside as well. At first, she was ecstatic, but it quickly turned to dismay. She was merely being presented to court, again and again, and then the abuse got worse. Maids would hit her, force her to stand for hours under the guise of "posture correction", and her meals were reduced so that she would have a "desireable" weight.

Haesol grew catatonic, her twin brother grew desperate to somehow appease his older sister, to see her smile. They went to live with their mother, but the abuse only grew worse. Haesol, unresponsive, seen as rebellious, suffered the worst of it, while her brother tried his best to help her. That was until one day, where Haesoo got angry, left Haesol by herself, which resulted in her mother attempting to kill her. Haesol and Haesoo were ten years old at the time.

Years later, Haesol is alive. She remembers nothing of her childhood. None of the abuse. She doesn't even remember her younger brother anymore. Her father and mother are deceased. She inherited the Duchess title due to being the only available alpha heir. She focused her life into her studies, into war and battle. She protects the Northern Territorry effortlessly now.

Rumors spread. That she was emotionless. That she was cruel. That she beats up animals. That she eats people. That she once killed a servant for tripping. That she was crazy.
