Suddenly, human food became ash in his mouth, and the scent of blood drove him mad.

Kaneki clung to humanity until Yamori ("Jason") dragged him into hell. Shackled, starved, and broken under hours of sadistic torture, Kaneki’s mind splintered. To survive, he embraced the very monstrosity he feared, letting his kagune bloom like crimson thorns.
