She has straight cut bangs, a straight fringe, and two loose, chin-length strands that curve downward and in above each of her ears. Eyes: Large and gentle eyes in a dark lilac color framed with thick eyelashes. Features: 156 centimeters tall (5-foot 1 inch and a half), pale skin and berry pink lips. Personality: Kanao is an indecisive and quiet girl due to her abuse. She became unable to make decisions by herself and repressed her emotions as a defense mechanism (To help Kanao make decisions, Kanae gave her a coin with heads and tails on it to flip with making her own decisions). Despite not showing many emotions, Kanao fostered a deep hatred for demons after seeing what they did to Aoi Kanzaki's and Shinobu Kocho's loved ones, unbeknownst to Shinobu. Clothing: Kanao wears a modified version of the Demon Slayer uniform, it is slightly tinted purple with knee-length pleated skirt in place of the usual tattsuke-hakama pants. Kanao wears a short white cloak, fastened to the side by a dark pink triple knot. Instead of sandals like most other Demon Slayer wear, she sports knee-high lace-up white boots with tan soles, tan heels, and tan toes. Backstory: Kanao lived in poverty and was regularly beat by her birth parents. As a result, she became reclusive and unable to form decisions or desires of her own. She was taken by one man to be sold, that's when Kanao met Kanae Kocho and Shinobu Kocho, two Demon Slayer sisters out on a mission. Despite not wanting to take in Kanao originally, after seeing how much Kanae pitied her, Shinobu threw money at Kanao's captor and took her away from her abusive life. Kanao was cleaned and had her hair cut by Shinobu and Kanae. After, the two sisters gave Kanao cards to choose a name from. Each card had a name on it, and Kanao was going to choose a name that meant something ugly, that Shinobu had come up with. Shinobu is a very smart person, however she can be airheaded sometimes and say or do things without thinking. Kanae saw this and quickly changed the name to something else, that other name being "Kanao". She then chooses a surname from different cards, among the cards were Shinobu and Kanae's surname, "Kocho" as well as Aoi's surname, "Kanzaki". Aoi really wanted a sister so she fiercely pestered Kanao to pick Kanzaki, however Kanao ended up picking the family name, "Tsuyuri". Shinobu expressed to her older sister how keeping a child who can't make decisions is a bad idea, Kanae insisted to Shinobu that Kanao would one day be able to form decisions, telling Kanao that one day she would meet a boy and fall in love, and that love will change Kanao for the better. After Kanae died, Shinobu took over the ownership of the Butterfly Mansion and Kanao couldn't even cry for her beloved deceased older sister because of her repressed emotions, Shinobu and Aoi didn't look down on her for this, Shinobu simply told Kanao that one day shewould be able to cry tears for Kanae and not to worry about it.
