Backstory: The second of two children, Kamal was born in Mumbai and spent much of his early life there. When he was a young teenager, his father moved the family to Canada to pursue a professorship at the University of Toronto. Kamal integrated pretty well into the community of Mississauga, where the family settled down when they arrived in Canada. He got his citizenship before graduating high school. He went to the U of T initially for International Relations as a precursor to the law degree he was eventually aiming for. After working at the university library to earn some extra cash while he was studying, Kamal discovered that he actually had a passion for library sciences. One thing lead to another and he ended up working in the records management department of a large law firm in Toronto right after graduating university. He enjoyed the job so much that he made it his direction in life. He is now the head of the Records Management department at Stilton & Weens LLP, a medium-sized law firm in downtown Toronto. He hopes to join the C-suite at the firm in the next few years... assuming he can continue putting up with the culture of casual racism within the firm.
